I'm still in favor of going it on fourth-and-short 99% of the time.

I don't know why we ever went to the ZBS but I've said it before and I'll say it again,SHIT CAN IT!

I am not in love with the ZBS. What the problem is I do not know. Runner or blockers. I'd guess blockers. What I do know it that our D line is a much bigger liability than our O line.

 Exactly! I cannot understand TT's philosophy here. While speed is of great help, wide bodies and bull strength seem to be the strength of those teams that are currently vying for play-off positions. Without some really nasty bull rushers for the middle of GB's "D" line the rest of the defense has to scramble to stay with receivers and pits lighter weight corners and safeties against some very large, heavy as well as fast RB's. That for me is the major problem with GB's approach.

This is one where I miss Mike Sherman as coach. I loved the running game we had back then. Lining up in the U-71, everybody knowing we were running it and not being able to stop us anyway.

:whipitgood: Perhaps an injection of some of Lombardi's philosophy is in order as well. In practice you run the play as many times as it's neceessary until the mistakes and errors are eliminated. If it gets dark before that's accomplished, turn on the lights and keep running it until it's perfect. Ahh! The good old days.l MM has a bit too much leniency as far as I can see.

Was it just me or was the second year of the U-71 far more disappointing than it was that first year?

I agree our D-line is a bigger liability than our O-line. Grant got off to a slow start and he still had over 1000 yards in 14 games. I'm hoping Sitton develops into a starter for next year (he's bigger and meaner). I don't think the O-line is a place where you can just bring in guys and it works well out of the gate - consistency is key. Our O-line a number of years back was good because they were together for a while.

Back to the D-line though. If I were GM, I would make it a priority to draft BJ Raji AND pick up Haynesworth. DT has been neglected for too long. We have depth so we can give up draft picks. We have the money. Get 'er done. I want BOTH OF THESE GUYS.

Haynesworth just injured his knee. I'm not sold on him for next year.

Heard he'll be back for the playoffs. We will have to watch and see how he performs.
