the guy is really starting to look like another one of ted thompsons bust

This is something the Vikings know well.. first round busts. Didn't a couple of years ago; the Vikes spent two picks in the first round.. say 05.. and neither is with the team today?

Or one other word.. "Underwood". Case Closed. ;)

On topic.. Harrell is soft.. plain and simple. Either A) he doesn't train correctly, or 😎 he is too large for his frame which is causing undue stress on it or C) He has the pain threshold of a field mouse.

our last two "bust" are now on other teams and we got something in return , harrell and hawk are still drawing a rookie 1st round pick salary of the packers

The kid had an injury history in college, he was injured at the time he was drafted and he has been injured more than he has been healthy since he has been in green Bay.
I have sat in Lambeau and watched him and I have watched him on TV and I can't see that he is capable of anything that you would expect from a 1st round draft pick.
If you can tell that he is capable of something exceptional, I'm not sure we are watching the same player.

Just looking at his frame you can tell the coaches have a sort of freakish canvass to work with. I've seen him get good push on a number of plays. You can see some innate things he's got going for him. I'm not arguing with you about his production. Obviously his career so far has been a disappointment, to himself probably more than anyone else.

The critique of Justin Harrell as a football player is a little different than the critique of him as injury-prone. This is not a new injury. My understanding is that he has been playing with it since the first week he came back from PUP. The most critical amongst us need to take that into account when judging him...the MAN HAS BEEN PLAYING HURT for weeks...go look it up yourself.

I am very critical of Justin Harrell. I'm the guy that posted the "lazy picture" , the "twinkie picture" and the "cash down the toilet" picture.
There is one major difference between my version of criticism and some others. Mine is borne of frustration, and if you carefully consider this new news, it is quite possible that it is the best news we could hear as regards Justin Harrell.

This seeming illogical statement bears scrutiny. IF... Justin Harrell has been playing hurt these past several weeks... that would help dispel the concept that the boy has a low threshold for pain/injury. It also at least leaves open for debate the concept of him being a non-impact d-lineman, as at least there MIGHT be some physical reasons behind it. I wanted to give him until the end of training camp next year, and frankly, my patience hasn't been up to the task. In a weird way, the knowledge that the boy is playing hurt is actually helping his cause in my mind, admittedly a strong possibility exists that I am grasping at straws, but it just needs to be pointed out that this "new news" isn't new news... check into it for yourself.

i agree completely foster. i'm impatient and i want him to play at pro bowl level now. he's got talent. i've seen potential. if he's playing hurt, that shows me that he's capable of doing just that, and that we are not seeing his potential. same thing with Pickett right now. he hasn't done much this year, but he hasn't been healthy, so i can still hope he rights the ship next season.

Who am I?

1993: I was drafted by the Vikings (79th overall). I showed up to camp out of shape and was cut during the first training camp. The Packers signed me because they were desperately thin at DT. I wound up playing in two games that year.
1994: My season was cut short when I tore my ACL.
1995: My season was cut short by an elbow injury.
1996: I started all 16 games and recorded 51 tackles on a defense that gave up only 19 TDs all year. And, oh yeah, we won the Superbowl that year, too.
1997: As a free agent, I took a pay cut to stay with the Packers and over the next few years I became one of the most dominant run stuffers (and one of the most popular Packers) of all time.

Maybe you've heard of me...

Great point, but one major difference. The Packers could afford for that talent to stay healthy.. drafted in the top 20 doesn't give a player the same luxury.. it is perform now or pack your bags.;

If I am the Players Union.. this is one of the things I take to task next CBA.. a slotted pay scale for draft picks, eliminating the massive first round money.

Why.. isn't that against the Unions interest.. IMO.. not really.. if they bargain in buying out a year or two of the restricted free agency more of their players will get a bigger piece of the money, and prolong the careers of players that wash out early because they struggle early coming out and get cut prematurely.. never reaching potential.. plus the guys that come out late in the draft or via UDFA.. they get rewarded quicker for their play.

Win Win for all.. and you may see more stories like this one.

beast (4h) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (12h) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (17h) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (18h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I literally just said it.
