Speaking of which, esports have seriously missed a freaking great opportunity as they could have had a Monopoly during the coronavirus shutdown, as they could of potential had a bubble and safe space for gamers and put that on TV safer, easier and cheaper than any other sport (of you consider them a sport, but at minimum competition).

I've never seen a gathering, with 25 or more people, that ever completely agreed about everything. All professional sports are nervously watching each other as they try to tailor how compete and remain as safe as they can be. i can't predict weather all or some or none of the sports leagues will succeed in having a 2020 season.

It would be a tragedy if problems began to happen, it was hushed up/covered up, and great athletes started to die. Is any amount of greed worth even 1 human life?

I don't need to know about their personal lives unless THEY themselves disclose it voluntarily.

This instant "news" and I use news very loosely here has completely saturated the enjoyment of the game. For fucks sake players are whining about a video game rating! ESPN did a god damn TV show about Madden ratings. WTF. True, I don't have to watch, but guess what, I don't have ESPN and I didn't watch -- but since people NEED content it was shoved down our throats and I still got wind of it and had clips thrown in my face.

If this wasn't a massive multi billion dollar BUSINESS, there would be games being played on Sundays. But, since everyone is ready to LAWYER UP like little bitches they are it causes delay after delay after delay. And then you get the NFLPA telling players to Tweet their displeasure with the NFL when in fact it's the players being the fuckholes to begin with! We won't talk about that though because we don't want the players to block us on that special social media platform called Twitter.

Don't get me wrong here. I would love for games to be played. I just cannot bury my head (I've tried and continue to try) deep enough into the sand to block out all of the BS that is thrown around.

It was a little before my time but the philandering antics of Mickey Mantle were not regurgitated onto the newspaper pages. Same for other sports stars. The media more or less stuck to reporting things on the field. Naturally there were exceptions.

As for the no sports or poor sports question- I am in the no sports camp. There's enough aggravation in my life. I don't want to be irritated by terrible games all the time. I have too many other things to do than to sit and watch something that's going to tick me off.

Agreed, I'm tired of all the crap news! And would rather have no news than crap news.

But I much rather have crap sports, than no sport. After all sports will help the news actually have something more to actually report on... plus they (the sports) MIGHT be interesting.

When I saw the headline “No football, or bad football” I immediately thought “does that mean no football, or being forced to watch only Chicago Bears games?”
