Actually that's something I've said, it might of been best to say the name must change once it changes ownerships, because based on his current history, Snyder will screw up any brand, and that's when you least want to start a new brand.

Of the people that didn't inherit their team from their parents, he seems like he might be the last guy you want running your brand, considering NFL fandom maps have been showing he's been losing fan territory for over a decade. And I don't think it has anything to do with the name, but how the brand is being run. Hell, even if the owners that inherit their team, he's still quite low (I might have Bengals owner lower).

Think that's a lot of fuck-ups and misfires? Look again at the date of the article: November 19, 2010!! That doesn't include anything from the past decade!!

They missed my favorite part of this story. Supposedly scouts are forbidden from watching other teams practices UNLESS they're charging money to watch, so when Snyder decided this, reportedly all the NFC East rivals had multiple scouts there daily!

Also the one and Snyder not understanding the cap, absolutely, for a while there, year after year after year, they were sign the most over hyped FA player, as if all they knew about football was what the hype was... and nothing about the actual football.

Also the one about firing Nov Turner... he was Ron Rivera offensive coordinator in Carolina... after a couple swings and misses for offensive coaches. I was surprised he didn't bring him with him, and Snyder firing him years ago, might explain it, of course it's Norv's son now as OC.

Daniel Snyder, from what I've seen, owns his NFL Franchise because it is a good investment. He is like some other sports team owners that don;t care if his team wins or loses as long as the revenue stream does not dry up. He will change the team name, but is more concerned with the legal and marketing aspects rather than what any fans want. The current delay must be about copyright rights .

FedEx threatens to take down signage at FedEx field.
Now...FedEx paid for the naming rights in 1999. I guess “Washington Redskins” name was just fine back then. So in 20 years it’s suddenly so horrible, they want to remove their name. They are under contract for 6 more years. Who would lose then if Snyder refuses to change the name? FedEx would still have to honor the contract and pay each year.
My point in this is: FedEx doesn’t give a damn about the Redskins name. It’s all about trying to look good to the politically correct group by jumping on the bandwagon. As was said earlier, it’s all about the money.
I would seriously like to know, how many native Americans really care about the name. Is it 50%, 5%, 1%?
As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. So even if it’s a really low percentage, they can bully their way to get their way.
I really don’t care if the name is changed or not. It won’t affect my life either way. It’s just interesting to watch the ping pong match.

I'm not sure if I should take this serious, but one Twitter pert is claiming that Yahoo's Charles Robinson said the name change is supposed to happen in the next couple of days.

And today is not the announcing of a new name. It is announcing that Redskins is no longer going to be used for the Washington football club. At least, that's how I've read everything being thrown out there about this topic.

It's a good year to have a new nickname. It seems many teams changed their uniforms, so why not change your whole nickname!!

Anyone read this article? Some tidbits I didn't know.

Zero2Cool (now) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (10m) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (11m) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (13m) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (13m) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (14m) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (15m) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (23m) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (25m) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (35m) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (39m) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (48m) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (55m) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (56m) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (1h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (1h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : KC jumped and they call it on Eagles. WTF refs
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : If he was offside why did you let him pop the QB?
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : I like that Eagles are controlling time of possession so far.
Mucky Tundra (1h) : If the Eagles are going to win, this is how they do it: jump all over the Chiefs and don't let it turn into a close one
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : Bad throw created that penalty.
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : Amazed Philly got that hit to the helmet call.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : refs just called an OPI,,,bullshit
dhazer (2h) : final score Chefs 24 Eagles 21 Refs 3
Mucky Tundra (4h) : feels like it hurts everyone but starters
Mucky Tundra (4h) : *cut down on snaps that
Mucky Tundra (4h) : beast, no not at all. Just seems counterproductive to cut down on snaps to help back ups get playing time and get potential money after cuts
Zero2Cool (6h) : So, Jets tell Rodgers they're moving on? QB2 for Packers haha
Zero2Cool (6h) : Hey, I'm not saying it's the great idea. I'm saying, it's what I think will happen.
beast (6h) : You think they give a crap enough about bubble guys to make rules for them?
Mucky Tundra (7h) : So games that will be even *more* sloppy the first two or three weeks of the season?
Zero2Cool (10h) : I think you can figure most starters won't be playing either of the two games at all.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : is 2 preseason games enough for bubble guys to make a mark?
packerfanoutwest (8-Feb) : true.forgot about that
Zero2Cool (8-Feb) : Unless they reduce preseason from three to two games.
packerfanoutwest (8-Feb) : If Goodell allows an 18 game season, there will be a SB on Valentines Day
Zero2Cool (8-Feb) : Perfect football player. - Ron Wolf on Sharpe
Zero2Cool (8-Feb) : Sharpe didn't celebrate TD's ... crazy I didn't realize it back then
Martha Careful (7-Feb) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe
Mucky Tundra (7-Feb) : beast, you didn't miss much with that one. Raiders didn't update their play calls, audibles etc so the Bucs D steamrolled
buckeyepackfan (6-Feb) : That was quick, one thing Jordan said was he doesn't agree with Josh Jacobs, that the Packers need to go get a proven #1 wr
buckeyepackfan (6-Feb) : J-10VE on ESPN NOW!
beast (6-Feb) : I was young and didn't get enough sleep... fell asleep during the Buccaneers/Raiders Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Patriots / Panthers feeling is what I got. didn't watch that one either
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Easier to get a camera on her in the suite where she can't impact the game by being distraction???
TheKanataThrilla (5-Feb) : This is the least excited I have been in a long time for a Super Bowl. Unfortunately they both can't lose.
wpr (5-Feb) : So why don;'t they have her on the sidelines and doing the halftime fandango instead of sitting on her but in a $1,000,000 suite?
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Think more eyes on Super Bowl with Swift fans pulling for her TE boyfriend?
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : She dating the TE of the Chiefs.
Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : Taylor Swift has millions of fans, yeah?
