New punter Jeremy Kapinos drew some cheers and applause when his first practice punt as a Packer spiraled near the ceiling of The Don Hutson Center.
The left-footer punted fewer than 10 times, mostly well, in his practice debut after signing with the Packers on Wednesday. Kapinos will face far more challenging conditions on Sunday against Houston -- and it's worth noting his failed predecessor, Derrick Frost, also looked good in his practice debut in September -- but it was clear by the reaction of his new teammates that Kapinos' arrival has been well-received.
The Packers worked special teams for nearly 20 minutes, giving extra time to fundamentals for the struggling kick-coverage unit. Even by special-teams coach Mike Stock's standards, he seemed high-strung today.
