I can't believe I'm saying this....but I'm actually exited to see our punter punt.

I 2nd this. I can only imagine the ovation he will get if he has a good punt on his 1st punt of the game. Probably the loudest ovation for a punter, ever.

Lets just hope the guy knows what hes doing. I swear it felt like Frost would just go out kick the ball and run off the field with no real effort or any thought into where to place the ball, how hard/not hard to kick it.

I just hope he can kick the ball with some amount of consistency...

Me, too. Finding a good punter seems to be a function of luck instead of logic. It seems almost as hard as finding a good QB - stats and performance in college never tell the whole story. What's going on under the helmet seems to play a huge role in both jobs.

Asked what he could possibly expect from a young guy with almost no regular-season experience, coach Mike McCarthy said, "I want him to punt the ball in the right direction. I'm expected to win games; he's expected to punt the ball in the right direction."

 Eesh, McCarthy sounds like the media/fan negativity is starting to get to him.

Sounds like the team knew it was time for Frost to go...

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/ic/blogs/insider/index.shtml

New punter Jeremy Kapinos drew some cheers and applause when his first practice punt as a Packer spiraled near the ceiling of The Don Hutson Center.

The left-footer punted fewer than 10 times, mostly well, in his practice debut after signing with the Packers on Wednesday. Kapinos will face far more challenging conditions on Sunday against Houston -- and it's worth noting his failed predecessor, Derrick Frost, also looked good in his practice debut in September -- but it was clear by the reaction of his new teammates that Kapinos' arrival has been well-received.

The Packers worked special teams for nearly 20 minutes, giving extra time to fundamentals for the struggling kick-coverage unit. Even by special-teams coach Mike Stock's standards, he seemed high-strung today.

Being a left-footer myself, Kapinos has my full support.
