Bear in mind, it's not even clear whether Aaron still has it or not. I think he does, but he needs to prove it by adhering to proper mechanics and fundamentals. Maybe the cracked knee got him off of that last year.

Maybe the escalating injury rate is related to aging. Either way, dude needs to get the ball out faster.

And we need to be sure we have a backup plan, if/when Aaron misses time.

The WRs/TEs/RBs need to present an open target for Rodgers to throw to. That is why Nelson and Cobb are/were no longer part of the roster. Hopefully the 2019 receiving core, along with the new offensive system, will shine bright this season.

In addition, Rodgers low interception stats result from being careful with the football. That means not throwing into poor percentage situations. Rodgers would certainly prefer to stay in the pocket and hit open receivers. His mechanics/fundamentals are/will be just fine.

As for backup QB's, it's always prudent to keep an eye open for QB talent. However this is not the best time to deal with that. IMO, this years QB class is thin and not worth more time wasted on yet another QB. Perhaps the 2020 or 2021 draft classes will provide a better selection of QB talent.

Taller QBs can see the field better.
But that doesn’t mean a short guy can’t make up for it with talent.

I know it has to do with batted passes, seeing over your linemen et cetera, but there's two things I disagree with.

While the talent lever in the NFL is higher, the length of o-linemen usually isn't. If you could see over them and produce in college, you can do it in the NFL if that'd be the only variable.

There's no statistics to back up that shorter guys throw with trajectories that get their balls batted down more often or get forced into more interceptions. And even if that's the case, do you want to pass on an elite talent like Mayfield because 14 of his 550 passes get batted down at the LOS instead of 9?

I'd prefer my QB to be 6'4, but I think the height of a QB gets way too much attention when looking at the eventual impact it makes in the NFL.

Or did, at least, as Kyler Murray (5'10 on a good day) will probably go 1st overall tonight.
