I think we all believed we got Davante Adams on a good deal at the time, and we're feeling that deal is getting better with each overpaid WR coming through now. What says you?

On Friday, Ben Goessling of the Star-Tribune reported that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has signed a four-year, $64 million extension that could be worth up to $73 million. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, $35 million is guaranteed.

That could work out at over $18 million a year, making Thielen one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL. And well deserved. Thielen is an excellent player and has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with a combined 2,649 yards and 13 touchdowns over the past two years.

Rewind a little over a year, back to December 2017. Davante Adams was a few months away from hitting free agency, but the Green Bay Packers were able to agree a deal, which was for four years and worth $58 million. Adams’ deal works out at less than $15 million a year.

It sure is looking like a great contract right now!
Adams is one of the best, and if he keeps going like he has the last couple of years, it’s going to look like a steal!

Maybe the packers will rework his contract early to give him a raise, ala thielen and Rodgers.

dfosterf (6h) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (6h) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (17h) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (20h) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (22h) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (22h) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (22h) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (22h) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (22h) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (22h) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (22h) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (22h) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (22h) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
