I remember when my son was in high school. He would come home and say one of his teachers "yelled at him". "Yell at you?" I would ask why. Then he would say the teacher didn't exactly yell at him. The teacher was being firm or assertive. I remember botching an interview for a college scholarship. The whole interview process was more aggressive than what I expected.
Bring that over to Polite's comments, kids don't always use the most precise words to describe what has happen. (Even adults struggle with this.) I am sure most star athletes are not use to being questioned. The interview was not what he expected.
