Noooooooooo!

The Packers could be replacing their Super Bowl winning coach with a coach who has taken a team to a Super Bowl. According to multiple league sources, former Lions and Colts coach Jim Caldwell has interviewed for the Green Bay opening. Caldwell coached the Colts from 2009 through 2011, and he then served as head [more]

Would rather Eric Bieniemy be our Rooney rule interview. Maybe they want to comply as soon as possible. Never thought much of Caldwell. He seemed like a yes man to Manning in Indy. He did somewhat well in Detroit, but they did have a pretty good collection of players at the time along with one of the best WRs in history.

Though I'm not sure this is a Sham interview... at minimum this might have been a practice run for Gute, letting him know what a good interview is, but also might be a serious candidate.

Caldwell went 24-8 as head coach with the Colts before losing Peyton Manning... and having a 2-14 season where the Colts drugged up owner threw Caldwell and Manning under the bus, stupidly taking unneeded shots at Manning along in the process.

Then Caldwell, as head coach of the hapless Lions, went 36-28 , which included 3 out of 4 winning seasons, the only time they have had back to back winning seasons since Barry Sanders... and his only non-winning season was 7-9.

I'm not saying we should all want Caldwell as head coach, but I think he is a legit bar setter (no matter his race), here he is, now try to find better!

So yes, I very much agree with you. I wouldn't mind if Caldwell got the job eventually. I'd like to go a more daring route, overall, but he's a pretty good guy if you want to get the most out of Rodgers' last few years.

Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
