I bet it came down to Mike drawing a line in the sand. Let's see what comes out man. It will be interesting to find out how this all went down.

Pedantic pedants will pedant. I know that Murphy reserved hiring and firing authority for the head coach, but do you seriously believe it wasn't made in consultation with Brian Gutekunst? It would expect the triumvirate structure to be dismantled and the incoming head coach to report to the GM.
