https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2018/10/15/packers-s-kentrell-brice-gets-burned-49ers-strike-with-long-td/

At the snap, cornerback Tramon Williams blitzed off the edge but couldn’t get home to the quarterback. From a clean pocket, Beathard dropped a clean ball into the hands of Goodwin, who ran right past Brice.

Brice being beat deep has been a theme for the defense in the first six games of the season. The Packers have been susceptible over the top, and Mike Pettine’s unit has struggled to prevent teams from attacking deep.

Brice has been a true liability on this defense. Ha-ha has had some terrible whiffs, as has Clay... but my goodness everytime someone gets a deep one on us it looks like Brice is trailing behind them after tacking a terrible angle.

We essentially have two strong safeties, Ha-ha is probably the better of the two in coverage, but that isn't saying much. The consistent bad angles remind me of the M.D. Jennings days.... I don''t get a sense of panic from the defense on this, but I really hope they take a long look at the position over the bye.

Is Josh Jones just so bad in practice that he doesn't deserve a shot? Maybe if Jaire is getting healthy over the break we can think about moving Tramon to Safety part time?

Thoughts?

We don't have a Free Safety on the team. Clinton-Dix is better fitted at Strong, so is Josh Jones. I don't know that Tramon Williams would be good at free safety either.

Eric Reid, someone I thought was a good free safety has only received 48 and 57 grades in two games with Panthers. Granted, profootballfocus isn't the tell all indicator, but they grade everyone the same way and Reid is low.

Do we activate Raven Greene and see what he can bring to the table? Really couldn't be any worse than what we have been getting with Brice at the moment.

Brice made a big splash a couple of years ago with some tremendous tackles on running plays. A lot of people, including the coaches jumped on his bandwagon. It was especially nice since GB didn't seem to have anyone who could tackle. There was a reason Brice wasn't drafted and his weaknesses have been exposed. FS coverage isn't where be belongs. Get him up closer to the line and let him roam.

I don't think I want him anywhere near our line. He seems to hurt our guys when he's near the line.

To be completely honest, I was more thinking of trading him straight up for Khalil Mack.

Mucky Tundra (3-Jun) : All the stuff I'm reading from Lions fans are pointing at his toe; he more or less has permanent turf toe in one of his big toes

Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
