Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy says nothing has changed with the way his players are being coached on how to tackle in the aftermath of a controversial roughing the passer penalty called against Clay Matthews on Sunday.

As was said in the article, this should have been addressed in the preseason.

MM is an idiot and I think he needs to be fired. They have been talking about this rule change since the league meetings in March. You can not drive the qb into the ground or use your weight to land on them. This is the Aaron Rodgers rule. How stupid can he be having a rule made on behalf of his own qb lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Hazer.....you and I must have watched 2 different plays. Matthews did not drive him into the ground. He tackled him. He didn’t even put his weight on him. Watch the play again, Matthews even put his left hand out and into the ground to NOT land his weight on the QB.
What is a blitzing guy supposed to do? NOT tackle a QB for fear of a stupid penalty?
Believe me, I blasted Matthews for his late hit the week before. So it’s not like I’m just a blind Packer fan. I call them as I see them, reguardless. The NFL is full of crap if they (and they did) back the refs on that lane call.
I have no faith in the NFL anymore. It’s ridiculous .

The only solution I can see is to have no tackling of the QB. "One hand touch" the QB and the play is over...use two hands is a penalty because that has potential to injure.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

That is driving a qb to the ground and using your weight.

It's not so much that he's playing devil's advocate as that he's always hated Ted Thompson for moving on from Brett Favre, and by extension, he's always hated the girl Ted decided to take to the dance instead.
