GM Brian Gutekunst talks about roster overhaul

I liked how Brian G talked about players being cut and owned it by saying something like hey I was here when they were brought in and I am just --- ok screw it, I don't remember so I'm going to cheat.

I like this about the guy. Stating the obvious, but it wouldn't be hard for him to try and dance around it.

On it being an easier decision to cut previous draft picks now that he’s the GM:
“I can’t really speak of it because all the guys that are here, I was invested in if that makes sense. I’ve been here. I’ve been part of those drafts. I guess I don’t look at it like that. Maybe if I was somewhere else or if you move on from a team, maybe it is. I can’t really answer that question because I was as invested in all our guys as anybody.”

He does have a point. It not like he's a first year GM coming in from outside the organization with an impartial opinion of everyone. He is bound to have connections with some of the players.
