I've always liked Sam Shields and it was a bummer he got his head rattle so much and perceivedly easy. I was glad the Packers released him. I'm hoping he doesn't mess up his post athlete career with the Rams or any NFL team.

What are you thinking or feeling about Shields continuing his career?

Wish him the best but will feel pretty bad if he gets another concussion. Considering the brain damage risk I don't see why he needs this though. He was paid pretty well for two contracts so probably doesn't need the money.

Great cover guy, I don’t want him in run support.

Well....I think it’s stupid for him to try to play again. He’s seen what it did to older players. Why risk his long term health?
But in the end, it’s up to him and whoever would want to chance putting him on the field. I don’t know why a team would even put themselves in that position. If he gets hurt, they would look bad for putting a guy with such high a risk on the field.

I am not a doctor. I haven't seen his file. I have no idea what his risk factor is.
That said it doesn't seem to be a wise move. With so much concussion awareness/fear by the NFL there must be something behind LA's signing him.

I wish him well.

Q: Is this the type of situation where suffering another concussion would mean you definitely have to walk away? Or can you continue to play if it happens again?

A: Nah, that’s it. That’s a wrap.

Q: So one more concussion and you’re done?

A: Yeah.

A medical report says hecan play....that medical report is right, he CAN play. The question for me would be, is it worth the risk?
True, he could play for several years and not get hurt. But with his concussion history, is that chance worth it?
Ultimately it’s his and the teams choice. I sure wish him well.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
