True...we as fans have a kind of “love affair” with certain players. Organizations can’t allow themselves to think that way. They have to think of what they believe is best for the TEAM.
For me it was that way with Donald Driver. I knew he was done, but hated seeing him retire.

I guess it depends on what is considered “respectable”.
Will Nelson live up to his somewhat large payday in Oakland? We will see.
Either way, tough decisions have to be made by a pro GM.
They aren’t always “loved” decisions by us fans. But the GM has to do what he feels is in the best interests of the team.
There is just so much money, and he has to make decisions with his head, and not his heart. (As we fans do with our hearts often times)

32 year old Jordy Nelson, who was reportedly offered just above the 10 year veteran minimum of $1.015 million.

I don't know what our cap space was in 2012, nor the core roster, which these things play into it as well.

That said, I thought this topic was about Jimmy Graham and being a turnover machine? Weird evolution haha

This Jordy to Driver comparison is bad because Driver was 5th best receiver, with the starting QB playing, before lowering his contact... while Nelson was #2 with the starting QB playing.

Yeah....what’s a lousy couple million dollars?
“Disrespectful”? No.
No one said Nelson had to take the deal. And in fact, he didn’t.
How many millions did the Packers pay him for the last 10 years?
I’m gonna cry big time for the multi millionaire player that is already set for life. A couple lousy million dollars....what a slap in the face.
Geeez.

You claim you're not loyal to the players, because they make multi millions off the team, and where exactly do the teams get that money? Because they're making multi millions off of us, the fans. Once again, your hypocrisy shows... as both make multi millions off of the fans, yet you credit the team and denounce the player.

You say you won't cry for a multi millionaire player that is already set for life, and yet you're crying for a multi billionaire business that is already set for life. Just you love one, and don't give two shits about the other... that's on you... not the players.

Nelson was loyal until they tried to cut his pay, to almost minimum while he was still producing... if you don't think every single player including the Packers hall of fame players (including Aaron Rodgers) wouldn't do the same damn thing, then you're stupid.

If the Packers went out there and told Aaron Rodgers, we're going to cut you, unless you only take 5 million per year... do you really think Aaron Rodgers is going to stick around? HELL NO!... he would take that as a slap in the face and go elsewhere.

I’ve been “crying”??? REALLY?!?!
Wow....seems like you have your head stuck up a players behind.
There is NO loyalty in professional sports today.
For EITHER side. THAT is what I’ve been saying all along.
I’m sick and tired of being called names by people on this site.
People used to be able to give their opinions without people slinging crap.
Those days are long gone.
I have tried to be civil in my responses.
I’m done with this crap.
Have a nice day.

Speaking of Grahams being a turnover machine... is it just me, or does it seem like most people dislike Graham crackers? And they keep getting passed on, from one person to the next? Maybe see people eat one, but most of them just seem to go to waste or put back in the box to be forgotten.

There is being negative (and I get slapped with that) and then there is being negative before a guy plays a f'ing snap with the team. Wow...
