My apologies, I was in a meeting and waiting for the projector to display my screen and hit the PH website. I am addicted to this place, it's a flaw of mine! Anyhow, I was being facetious with the shame on you. You've never met me, hung out with me, you don't know me. Also, you don't know my cousins or their ... 'ways'. I guess it was more of an inside joke for those in my family who read the site. So I was skimming posts, saw yours and thought I'd chime in. I wasn't offended or nothing by what you said if that was the perception my "shame on you" gave off. Funny thing, I had "shame on you, fucker" at first and I was like "no no that'll be taken wrong". Go figure, my softer joke came off wrong still! haha.

We in Green Bay have lots of different types of folks. Hispanics, Black, Oriental, it's a huge mix here. You can't go 10 minutes downtown without getting the full melting pot feeling. I actually do not like that Green Bay is seemingly turning into a "big" city. When I moved back from Colorado, all the sudden they were building these "fly over" highways. What the shit? NO! I loved our small town charm we once had.

Thus, I have decided to keep my family in the Howard/Suamico area and once the girls are grown and kicked out, err, moved out willingly on their own, I intend on moving a bit more north away from people so there's less "city" feel.

Sorry if I came off wrong to you. I didn't mean to shake your world from the ground. (get it? see what I did there? do ya???)

An oriental man walks into a pub and bellies up to a crowded bar. After about 20-30 minutes the guy next to him say "hey, do you have a black belt in karate or do kung fu or any of those other martial arts?"
The oriental man glares back at him and answers, "no, why are you asking ME this because I happen to be oriental?"
The man stares back at him and answers "no, I'm asking you that because your drinking my beer!"

I don't care what you say that's funny right there.

Point being I think the "R" card gets jumped on a little too quick some times, maybe?

People rarely get into heated debates over someone's tastings notes of a bottle of Eagle Rare. I'm not sure why there isn't a drunk/and or whiskey glass emoticon, someone needs to sort that out.

But what with the new GM, trades, FA signing and everything ITS PULLING ME BACK IN.

Here's a game, sports forum themed whiskey reviews:

Few Rye: The kid is raw, hot headed, but talented, with some more time in the system he might turn out okay.
Pappy Van Winkle 23 year: This guy is past his prime, real stiff and woody. No way he's worth that sort of salary!
Elijah Craig: Just the worst display of oak and corn I've ever seen. What sort of clowns signed this guy? Fire the master distiller immediately!!!! (PS: EC isn't bad, but you know there is always that guy)

Great post. Even supported with some data. Props.

Some of the funniest jokes I have heard were performed by comedians of one ethnic group or another. The question is why do we as a society find it funny. Most often it's because there is a sliver of truth in the bit that is magnified for the sake of the joke. If people could get past the concept that stereotyping a person or a group doesn't mean that it's really true. It's not possible to make everything so safe that no one is ever going to get their feelings hurt. Perhaps we should but the pandemonium that has been created has not worked.

There have been many black players who have stated afterwards that they did not want Green Bay to draft them. It is a reality whether real or imagined in those players mind to think they will not feel comfortable in Green Bay.

I am from Canada, lived in the cold all my life. Played football in the cold, so does my son. Yes it is manly to do so and I absolutely love watching a snow bowl (from the comforts of my couch), but given the choice I would rather play somewhere nicer. Not sure I would want to play in a city with extreme heat either, but getting tackled on a frozen field sucks ass.

Over the decades, I've often heard of players that only live in the city they play for during TC and the regular season. Some just rent or buy a place to live in while playing for their team. In fact, some share a residence with one or more teammates. Their permanent home is in Texas or Florida or California and their wives and family live there.

Another consideration is the weather. While I've not lived in GB, I have noticed that the weather there is normally rather plesant for playing football. December and January can be cold weather challenges, but even Miami plays games in the cold too. Dealing with 6 to 8 weeks of cold weather is survivable when you know that each day you are closer to spending two weeks on a beach in Hawaii.

[cheers]

dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.

Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
