They'll release and resign him imo, but if not he was the most expendable of the wide receivers. A WR1 who can no longer be a deep threat is pretty limited, he was hanging on due to his familiarity with Rodgers and the system. The idea to play him in the slot was the only option and ideally you want someone a little quicker there too (like Cobb).

Since his injured knee, he has lost a step. But dang....I love the guy. If he isn’t resigned i’ll Miss him.

Whether we resign him or not, at a certain point this has to become Davante's group to lead, and you can't have 3 WRs making top dollar on the books. Something has got to give. If you know what you are doing in the draft, WR might be the easiest position to refill. The truth is that we have got to get faster and younger at receiver. It's inevitable.

For the cap penalty, yes. You have to wipe the contract.

I know people are going to say Cobb should've gone, but I get it.

With Hundley, Cobb produced. Jordy didn't AT ALL. When Rodgers came back, Cobb stepped up. Jordy was there primarily at decoy work. Even when Davante went down in that game, it wasn't Jordy getting open. It was Geronimo Allison.

You can't replace chemistry, but it doesn't take a homer eye to recognize Nelson is more than likely done.

I hope he proves us wrong a on a non-division rival.
