As great as Rodgers is, I have to think that if Minnesota succeeds in signing Cousins, the Vikings instantly become the runaway favorites to win the division next season. Statistically, Cousins has been a top-three quarterback since 2015, despite helming some questionable rosters. Pair him with Minnesota's excellent receivers, solid running back, productive tight ends, and more-than-respectable offensive line -- not to mention their outstanding defense -- and it's hard not to think Green Bay is going to be stuck playing catch-up this offseason. Signing Graham will help tilt the balance a bit in the Packers' favor, but not enough to compensate for the gaping holes in the defense. I can't wait to see what kind of magic Gutekunst and company pull out of their hats on draft day.

I would be shocked if we didn't sign a veteran corner at some point but, again, free agency hasn't started yet.

You had to know that someone would post something similar and be serious about it so I was thinking I'd head them off at the pass. Perhaps you all did figure it out and that's why you were so kind.

Anyway, its now 4:30 and it seems we are signing Jimmy Graham and cutting Jordy Nelson to make room for him cap wise. I don't know how to feel about it until I see the numbers. JG definitely improves our TE position. With Rodgers throwing him the ball he could be a top 5 TE easily. Kind of sucks to lose Jordy but it was almost inevitable. Seems kind of unceremonious the way it was done and it seems clear to me that Gute's words indicate that there is not much chance he will be back at a cheaper price although that is certainly possible.

I think the Packers could have made a worse signing. Other than salary I don't think JG has a lot of downside. I still think he has the talent and can be super productive oer the next three years (well, 2 because even without knowing the numbers I'm guessing he doesn't make 3 but that's just a hunch) and has less risk involved than some of the other high level FAs (Johnson, Robinson, Watson for example)

Still, so far this off season we have weakened our CB position and our WR position and strengthened our TE position. I also think we have strengthened our backup QB position but I'm not 100% convinced of it. At least there is movement lets see what the next few weeks bring.

I am a little disappointed that there have been no CBs linked to us including the obvious re-signing of House at this point. Also curious that we have not seen any moves on our part concerning restructure or cutting of Matthews, Cobb, Nelson and Bulaga.

Let’s see....Minnesota had THREE decent QBs, and let all three walk to sign one that hadn’t really accomplished anything yet. Does that make them the front runner?
Keenum led them almost to a super bowl, and they let him walk. So a guy that doesn’t know their system, or their players, is going to be great?
They rolled the dice, and I wouldn’t doubt if it blows up in their collective faces.

Teddy Bridgewater isn't even going to start for the New York Jets.

All Kirk Cousins (or whomever is QB) has to do is not turn the ball over and be efficient and that incredible defense will do the rest. The key factor to that offense was Pat Shurmur, he was the key and he is GONE. So if the Vikings offense flounders under Kirk, let's be cognizant that Shurmur was one helluva an offensive coordinator.

The Vikes had to cheap shot our QB in order to beat us. They kept taking shots on Davante too, after he had just come back from that severe Thursday nighht concussion, 10 days before.

They are pretenders.

So throwing a ton of money at a guy that couldn’t lead whoever he was playing for to a championship is the answer?
I hope I am right. Not because i want to look so smart, but because I want the Vikings to fail!

Zero2Cool (9h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (9h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (11h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (12h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (12h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you
wpr (13h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (13h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (13h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (13h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (14h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (14h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (14h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (14h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (14h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
