It never hurts to check out all possibilities. It doesn’t mean they are REALLY interested.

Yes, I have wondered that for a long time, if the Packers we're checking or if they just assumed they would be out or decided they were uninterested or what did and didn't happen.

Then again, I'm still wondering as we know that they have talked once... that doesn't mean they are even in the same state of being in the race to sign them.

Back when Ted was in charge it didn't pay for the media jackals to even bring it up because everyone would just say "yeah right" now that Gute has said he is going to be more active in FA they throw everybody's name out there because "Yeah maybe"

The Packers did talk, it was just a footnote after the player signed and got very little to no attention. I do think having it publicized that we are talking is an attractive sign to free agents. It kind says, hey, they do wanna sign people, whereas the hush-hush Ted Thompson approach left everyone believing we don't want free agents as the only indication of a free agent being talked to was if they were signed. As far as Robinson goes if I'm going to go after a Jags receiver I'd rather have Lee.
