We live in a results world so it would seem to be more appropriate to judge people by what they get done, not how smoothly they communicatee.

It's gotten to the point where if someone is a GREAT speaker that I almost automatic trust them less to actually do it, all that they're supposed to.

Note, that's just for the GREAT speakers... the good ones have been like everyone else, you got your good and bad apples... but of the great speakers, then it just seems like they choose not to everything as they try to pick and choose what they want to do...

Sorry for the rant. But I'm perfectly fine with someone that doesn't speak the best... though maybe going forward, he shouldn't give details that we be turned against him later... Such as the Head coach will be under the GM... Instead leave the answer opened ended... We'll see when we get to that point.

Leaders need to communicate exceptionally well. Technicians are usually the subject matter experts with the corner office that are technically proficient in what they do, usually the experts, but are poor managers and leaders of people. A CEO is by nature not a technician. They need to always see the forest, not get stuck on individual trees like the technicians.

Mark Murphy spoke of communication "silos" several times, and there were several communication issues within the Packers organization. It seems fitting that Murphy himself appears to be an average communicator, at best. Organizations often resemble their leadership.

But of the people I personally have known/seen their work... the 3 best speakers out right refused or ignored the hardest part of their job and should have been fired. One might have been fired.

But once you start getting into the top 15 speakers, yes there are some extremely hard workers and doers too.
