The Tampa offense is bottom third and still got 400 yards with two banged up offensive linemen. The boys are inept and ill-prepared for wide receiver screens (and other screens for that matter.)
The fish rots from the head down, and while I think Mike McCarthy has done a passable job with the offense (although the 3rd and one wide receiver screen was a crappy call) he owns DC. If you arent part of the solution, you are part of the problem....

The defense does really well and then the offense puts them back on the field. You can't make adjustments when you're right back onto the field after your offense goes three an out three times in a row. The defense can do better, but they need the offense to at least sustain drives. There are not many defenses out there that can dominate with what this offense is doing.

I'm not advocating we should keep Dom Capers, I wouldn't be upset if he were let go and his entire defensive staff.

It's just not hard to understand that if your offense goes three and out or can't even stay on the field for more than 90 seconds that your defense is going to suffer. You don't get your stamina back and adjustments made if you're thrown right back onto the field.

Teams are going to throw the WR bubble screens and HB screens until our guys figure out a way to stop it. Winston must have thrown several passes that never went beyond the LOS that gained well over 100 yards.
The wr bubble to our defenses right side is awful and the HB screen to our left has probably averaged 25 yards every time a team throws it.
What should be a low risk, low reward play is not turning out that way. All teams have these plays in their playbook. If the defense makes stops they will quit calling it but if not they will just keep going to it like yesterday.
Like I say we are going to keep seeing these bubble screens until our DB's start getting off blocks and stuffing them. It's aggravating to see a simple pitch and catch result in a positive gain that often. I'm not sure this is even a coaching issue and belongs in this thread but it needs to get better.

wish people would make up their minds. One breath the talent on defense sucks because Ted can't draft. Well if the talent sucks, is there anything Dom can really do?
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

At least they put some pressure on the QB yesterday. That was nice to FINALLY see.
Heck, we WON in overtime, and that was what counts!
With our QB situation right now, that makes me happy.
And Mike McCarthy had some great play calls in the overtime! Don't forget that!

I guess wins really don't matter

The defense gives up 20 points, over half of the defenses in the league gave up 20 or more points yesterday.

The defense had 7 sacks, more than any other team in the league yesterday.

The defense scored 6 points.
Not many defenses scored 6 yesterday.

Oh but the defense gave up over 400yds.

Well that looks bad until you realize they were on the field for almost 40 minutes.
BTW who gives a fuck how many yards the defense gives up?
IT'S THE DAMN POINTS THAT COUNT!

Can't This bullshit about Dom and Mike and Ted need to go wait till after the season?

They aren't going anywhere until then.

Jesus you want to bitch about things you have no control over, go to FB click on ANY article about The Packers and join in with The 1000's haters who will gladly join you in bashing The Packers!

Sorry about the rant, but this forum is better than that!

A forum must provide context for integrity. Why did we have those sacks? 2 OL out for Tampa a factor? Jameis back after multi game absence after having a poor season before that a factor? Doug Martin out and Desean hurting a factor?

Hundley with 54 passing yards a winning performance? D giving up over 400 to a sputtering O say anything?

Context...context... context.

If we beat Cleveland, and have 10 sacks is our D SB worthy all of a sudden? Context. It would be the Browns. You would be spinning it into so much more than it should be completely out of context causing confusion and disappointment when playing legit teams. Don't create false expectations based on seeing something good vs crappy competition. Badgers fans made that mistake.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

You can't stop everything... Capers just has to take the limited talent he has healthy and pick his poison...

He choose to try not to let the talented WR beat them deep, which opens up stuff underneath... congrats, Bucs took advantage of it. Packers defense gave up 20 points, but they also got 7, so a net of 13 points. That's not bad.

What's kind of scary is that that on the Packers touchdown drives, the WRs did NOT touch the ball even once... in fact only two passes were attempted, and the only one completed with to the RB.

It'll be interesting to see how Hundley does in Cleveland... if he does well in two road games, then maybe he just can't pass in Lambeau for some reason.
