I was so giddy after reading this. Could not disagree with one thing, except I will still try to watch an entire Packers game. Sundays game could be over @halftime.

Mark Murphy will not fire UncleT and Coach Mike after the season. Not having Aaron is giving them both a get out of jail free card. He may not give them extensions on their current contracts but he won't fire them either.

I also have a problem with a so called fan of them team hoping that Hundley has a terrible game while Watt has a great game. I except a GB loss but I don't wish it to be so.

So if a fan don't think like you, he's a "so-called fan?" You now gonna decide what fans can and cant believe? I dont agree with a suck-for-Luck type campaign, but I surely understand a fan's logic behind it. That's called a civil disagreement. You can have disagreement and can attack the ARGUMENT; but shouldn't attack the person's character, when you disagree with them.

You appear to state with certainty a fore-knowledge of 1265's contractual thinking. Like you are an expert or that Murphy and the Board have consulted with you. Of course, a well-adjusted and sound thinking human understands that this is simply a way one might chose to express an unsupported opinion that they feel strongly about on a silly sports forum.

I digress. Your extension/fire the coach corollary is not well thought out. Ted's at retirement age with what could be thought of as a successor already in the works. But, Mike is a 100% different animal. There's a name for a super successful guy coaching in his last year after 1 possibly bad season: Lame Duck. Lame Ducks have trouble keeping and signing new staff w/ other options, securing FA's w/ other options [this is already a huge issue in GB] and getting the players to buy into the team concept.

On of three things will Happen:
1. Mike gets an extension [and this will happen unless Mike wants out];
2. If Mike wants out, he gets fired at end of season; or
3. GB will suck next year, then a rebuild begins in 2019.

It would be fitting if a blowout loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers were the swan song for Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson, who just couldn't take T.J. Watt.

But when it comes down to it, I would rather see the team pull it out of their ass than want/hope for them to take in the ass.

It really makes me wonder about "people" at times. I don't let a few "bad apples" (for lack of better phrase) ruin my opinion of the masses, but shit, why want root for YOUR team to win? To defy the odds!

But, Kevin, doesn't someone have to put it in your ass before you can pull it out of your ass? 😕

I would find it hard to disagree with the idea that it's more beneficial this team loses every single game and experiences major change vs. winning a few more and finishing around 8-8 and keeping the status quo.

Who wants this team to lose? I don't think there's anybody. If I could have it my way, Hundley would be better than Rodgers and we'd roll to a SB win this season. That doesn't look very likely and I already believed in my heart of hearts we had no chance even with 12 and needed changes, so, for me, I'll be more than happy to see us tank while wishing it didn't have to be that way.

I've said this, previously, but I think 5 years or so from now there will be an entire mass of people who will all of a sudden start espousing the very same viewpoints they're panning here today. It happened with Favre, and the type of guy he really was, and it will happen with this regime when everyone has the ability to really look back and not be "in the moment". Only then, like with Favre, will we see what some of us already post about. While not as dramatic, as the old, "wrong side of history" refrain, you will surely be on the wrong side of Packers history for whatever that is worth.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Back to the topic here. We all agree, the Packers could have done better at building the roster. If not, let's just say we do for sake of argument.

What if this season is an eye opener to the staff and they are more aggressive at filling holes and building depth? They still use the draft primarily, but add in free agents here and there to round out the depth? Primary example, the back up QB can't cut it so they bring in a veteran who can?

Those who hate the regime, those who want, err DEMAND change ... if this were to happen, would you be able to root for the Packers to win then?

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.

Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
