Thanks for sharing. As my son plays OL I will be sharing this video with him.

It's only holding if the ref calls it!
Been that way since holding was invented!
😂😂😂😂
Was interesting to watch.
Gives you something else to peek at during the game.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Perhaps this helps explain how the injury ridden OL is still somewhat effective even with the backups in the game.

Good video, I knew there was a reason Campen was kept around. 😎 Innovative coaching

I think you can execute the technique without holding. You're pushing against the shoulder pads (in the video, they singled out one portion where Bulaga pushing up on the shoulder pads of the DL) to control the DL. You can push up / against the pads with the heels of your hands without grabbing and holding, and by adjusting the pressure of your arms / hands can control / keep the DL in front of you.

I'm not sure if the technique originated with the Packers, or if Campen adopted it. When watching the Steelers / Chiefs game, I noticed some of the Steelers OL using the 'Hug' technique.

There wouldn't be much of a story if it only focused on pushing back on the DLman.

I think the key to the video was the statement towards the middle where he says something about what happens when he faces a RT with better Technique like Bulaga well you would expect the defender to not have the success when facing a better opponent. Bulaga is considered one of the best RT in the game for a reason.

It has always been the case in football, The key to when holding gets called is if the lineman has good form and is in good position. If they do, they will almost never get called. It is when they are our of position and lose the form that officials pay attention. Officials cannot watch everything so they key on form and when they see bad form they watch closer.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
