I think it came down to guys that they like long term more vs guys that are more ready right now and they went with long term. At least that's how I see it.

You are right in your assessment. Long term won out over immediate needs.

What I find ironic is UDFA DBs are a whole lot like UDFA WRs. They are the shiny new toy that kids fall in love with and then discard after a short time. They are available every year. There will be more next year. The long story short is almost none of them actually pan out. Yes I realize that is a gross generalization.
