The back ups performance in Denver was pretty much the worst O line performance I've ever seen from this team and it was against back up defense players.

For once, I don't think a statement like that is hyperbole.

However... Although I don't think Spriggs can play left tackle, I think he may be able to play on the right side. On the left side, I want to see how Pankey plays this week.

He's got no punch and when he tries to get hands on people he's so slow about it and he's playing SOFT. Spriggs probably could play LT had he made any progress from last season instead of taking 4 or 5 steps back this year.

With RT Brian Bulaga recovering and back-up O-lineman Don Barclay out as well , the depth of GB's O-Line is being tested . Kyle Murphy seems to be doing better as a back-up than Jason Spriggs has.

Coach McCarthy , with his O-line not at 100%, has done the right thing. He has uplifted his healthy players to hopefully preform better, rather than tearing down their confidence at a critical time. Some coaches would go in the other direction and just end up making matters even worse.

What else can he say? Only a moron would argue coach should be "honest." As a matter of fact, Vikings' Zimmer tried the "honest" approach last year. Week after week he trashed his OL. The line never got better it got worse.

McCarthy is playing the hand he's dealt the best way he can. If the youngsters play they will get better; Bulaga gave up 3 sacks in his first game. And the players know what's wrong and are working hard to get better. The very last thing they need is loud-mouthed assholes "fans" "who THINK they know what is happening" to exercise their venom and hate.

I dont know why all these self-anointed experts are so worried. Bulaga's injury is not a problem, because we have a great QB. 2 years ago, SD came to town and 3 starters and 2 originally rostered back-ups were out. They started a guy who was on PS. And Rivers was outstanding, he only had a 2 seconds to throw so he did what he had to do. Look at NE OL woes last year and they won SB, that's what great QBs do, they over come weakness and dont bitch and wine and moan about not being protected.

If a QB needs to be surrounded by 10 probowlers; he effing Mark Sanchez, not Aaron Rodgers. If Rodgers bitches about it, then ship his whinny soft and pretty boys ass off to Denver.

Paging Porforis...what did I tell you? There's more out there lurking. 🤣

All he had to say is... It could be better...or...they're a work in progress...not LIE and say he feels fine about it.

If he wanted to give his guys a pump up. He should do it behind closed doors not by lying to the media.

Considering you do spin/lie on hehe like Jim Harbaugh, then you would probably do it if you were head coach too...

And as you mentioned it as head coach speak, probably suggest that quite a few do it and it's expected of them in that role

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
