"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." was good advice in "The Godfather" movie and is good advice in the NFC North . The Lions will again be GB's closest competition for the Division's title . It is therefor best to keep an eye upon the Lions .

Over the off-season , the Lions have tried improve at LB, CB, TE, and back-up QB positions . Besides the Draft picks , they added a veteran TE and two veteran OL-men . They have markedly improved their OL over last season .

Anquan Bolden has left the Lions and they will be searching for who will line up next to Golden Tate. In addition, Detroit may well be running more 2 TE set this season with Ebron and the (FA) 6 ft 7 in TE Darren Fells.

I should have also mentioned Detroit's 3rd yr RB Ameer Abdullah . GB will face this 5 ft 9 in / 203 lb 24 year old twice this season. He is projected by some to excel this season behind a very good OL .

If the reports are true , Matthew Stafford will soon be the NFL's highest paid player. No deal has been finalized , but sources say that management is willing to pay the price to not loose Stafford .

Detroit should again be GB's competition for the Division title. Stafford will lead that effort again, assuming he signs a new contract. I believe that he will .
