What a misleading article, the title itself is misleading: "Three veterans who might not make the team", heck the guy not on their rookie deal is Guion... and there is almost no reasonable way that Richard Rodgers doesn't make the final roster unless they sign another veteran TE (say Gary Barnidge).
I'll give you four REAL veterans that might not make the team.
~ DT Letroy Guion
~ DT Ricky Jean Francois
Since switching to the 3-4, the Packers have normally keep 5 or 6 players along the DL. With Daniels, Clark, Lowry and Adams most likely locked into 4 of those spots. This leaves Guion, Jean-Francois, Ringo and Price are all fighting for one or two spots.
~ OG Jahri Evans
~ OG/C Don Barclay
When the Packers don’t draft two OL, they normally keep 8 or 9 along the OL. With Bakhtiari, Taylor, Linsley, Spriggs and Bulaga most likely locked into 5 of those spots. A back-up Center will most likely be kept as well between Barclay, Flores and rookie draft pick Amichia. Leaving 2 or 3 spots for Evans, Murphy, Patrick, the UDFAs, and the losers of the Center battle (which include Barclay and a draft pick). Also remember that the Packers tend to lean toward trying to keep their draft picks who show potential, so draft picks Murphy and Amichia might have a fighting chance if they can show potential and Patrick showed potential last year even with (I believe) a broken hand in a cast.
