sschind , IMO your post are as valuable as any other members post. I enjoy reading diverse opinions that don't always follow the politically correct line. What I don't care for are personal attacks on others that serve no good purpose , Of that I don't recall you being accused . Arguing a position or against anothers position is this forums mission .

So I salute you and your post sschind . [thumbup]

[cheers]

I don't always succeed but If you would see some of my rough draft posts you would see the progress.

Two reasons for this. First and foremost there is no reason for it. It just portrays me in a bad light and how can I expect anyone to take me seriously if I am putting people down. Second, its the internet and it ain't going nowhere. What you post here could be here for ever for anyone to find. I know not many people know my real name but I generally use the same handle for most of my forums so if you see sschind on a beer label forum or a snake forum or an insect forum there is a good chance its me. (I do use a different name on the porn forums though 😉 )

For the most part this is a pretty good forum. There are a few people who really get to me and I would like to blast them on occasion but I realize that their own posts usually are more telling about them than anything I could say so I let them shoot themselves in their own foot.

Case in point. When I said this in my original response I'm curious to know what you have to say on the matter or aren't you going to participate in your own discussion? I was afraid it may come off as me sounding like a jerk and I debated leaving it in or not. It really served no purpose and I wish I would have deleted it or at least left out the last part.

For some reason when I see someone going all type A on someone else I can't help but think of one of my favorite Bill Cosby jokes. I said to a guy, "Tell me, what is it about cocaine that makes it so wonderful," and he said, "Because it intensifies your personality." I said, "Yes, but what if you're an asshole?"

It also helps to realize that we are all Packer fans here and I tell myself that often. We don't always agree on the best way to run the team but in the end we all want whats best for the Packers since the powers that be won't listen to any of us who is to say who is right and who is wrong.

[cheers] back at ya and go Packers.

Unless your post was sarcasm then you should see what I really wrote

Who is the Clark mentioned? I don't see a first name or last name and I don't remember a bust named Clark.

Actually, Bruce Clark? I figured I'd take a few seconds and do a internet search.

Trading up into the 3rd round to draft BJ Sanders - punter and then having to carry another punter on the roster sticks in my mind pretty well. Ahmad Carroll was a horrible pick, and DT named Donnell Washington. The Sherminator was a horrible GM from a draft standpoint but he did nail a couple good players in Nick Barnnett and Javon Walker.

But yeah, Mandarich and Bustin Harrell are probably the worst.

Another great pick was Jamal Reynolds. I think that was Ron Wolf's final draft or maybe Mike Sherman's first, either way, wonderful Reynolds, love the ~18 games he gave us.

Mandarich got lots of press here in Canada because well he is Canadian. He was also pretty open with the media here about wanting to go somewhere South. He wanted LA. He did not want Green Bay as he thought himself a rock star.

It is a thing that the GM has to keep in the back of their minds. Will this player be absolutely miserable playing in GB or have stated they don't want to come. I know you may not care as much about later round players, but having players who don't want to be in GB ruining a first round pick (especially a low one in the Mandarich case) is a tough pill. Was the smarter decision to try and pick the guy who was happy to come to town?

GB's greatest draft failures can also mean draft trades that did/did not take place. A trade that in the end cost the Packers or (in your opinion) a trade that could/should have taken place .

The 2017 draft trade is yet to play out it's full story yet, but history can now judge other cases fairly .
