GREEN BAY—What they knew did, in fact, hurt them.

“The most disappointing thing is they hit three balls over the top of us for touchdowns. The biggest issue we had were the big plays,” Packers Defensive Coordinator Dom Capers said, just three days after issuing a pregame warning that the Eagles lead the league in big plays.

Touchdown passes of 55, 45 and 32 yards represented 132 of the Eagles’ 211 yards passing, and 21 points in the Eagles’ 27-13 win over the Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Monday’s postmortem for Capers was all too familiar; it included regret for a fourth-quarter meltdown that had Head Coach Mike McCarthy on edge in his postgame press conference on Sunday. McCarthy referred to it as a “recurring situation.” In this case, it referred to a game-ending Eagles drive that killed the final 9:32 of the clock.

“We’ve certainly tried to address it,” Capers said of his unit’s fourth-quarter failures. The Packers have been outscored in the fourth quarter this season, 83-46. It is the only quarter they’ve been outscored.

Excuses, excuses and more excuses....

If you go into a game against the team leading the league in big plays and supposedly told/warned your defense about this, why did they score THREE times on big plays.

I don't get it.

More excuses and probably no answers to come.

Capers sure is quick to put all the blame on the players.

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

Too often Capers' defense has been a 'do not'.

We're pissing away the prime years of Aaron Rodgers, just like the prime years of Brett's career were pissed away by my buddy the Sherminator. [sarcasm]
