First, 98% of all the drafting credit given to Schneider; should go to McCloughan!
Second, you should withhold judgment until you know all the facts. His firing in Wash. was not about alcohol [Though I’m not saying it wasn’t a problem]. Scot didn’t see eye to eye about the direction of the franchise with Allen, EG he wanted to dump Cousins. So Snyder instead of firing Scot and paying the balance of the contract like a real man, with unimaginable cruelty set out to humiliate him to get him to quit. He had his stooley, Cooley, leak the drinking and floated stories he wasn’t at combine because his G-mother died a month before. Last week, 11 minutes after Washington Post ran a story from an “anonymous source” trashing Scot saying he’d been drunk all over the place for 18 months [some of the info could have only come from Snyder’s inner circle] the cowardly franchise said no comment about Scot's behavior. They tried to publicly humiliate and get him to quit and when he didn’t, SURPRISE, he got fired for cause. I hope he sues the crap out of them. This might make a wonderful Tortious Interference suit.
Third, he never stopped drinking after leaving 2 jobs [SF and Seattle] because of it; he needs help and 1265 will provide him the support he needs.
Fourth, he lives north of Seattle, so we need to get him so he doesn’t help Seattle. And Carroll is a user, he doesn’t care about Scot’s personal demons or if a player can walk when he’s 50. His goal is to win at any cost, especially over Harbaugh. Schneider and Carroll knew he had a problem, but all those 2 clowns could imagine is the competitive advantage the Seascum would gain over SF when they hired Scot after he left SF because of "family reasons."
Scot’s first unearthed jewel was Adam Timmerman. He put high round grades on Chancellor and Sherman and Carroll/Schneider didn’t listen until the 4th and 5th rounds and he is the reason Seattle drafted Russell Wilson in 3rd. When he left GB, Seattle, SF, and Seattle again there was a marked drop in the drafting competency of each team he left. He’s the best!
