Pending free agent Julius Peppers "appears to be done' with the Packers, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. Peppers has declined to address retirement in the past, so although Demovsky's report likely means Peppers won't re-sign with Green Bay, Peppers may look to continue his career elsewhere. A year too late but glad Julius won't be back. So close to getting what he came for in 2014.

Pass rusher moved up in need. Clay back inside, or cut, looks less likely now, too.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Clay Matthews is not effective at Inside Linebacker. He is best on the Outside and healthy. The latter is the issue. We cannot keep trying to plug a square peg into a round hole.

Either way still need some help at rushbacker. If we take two pass rushers in the top 4 rounds I would be ecstatic!

I also disagree with Zero, He is a stronger pass rusher from outside, but he also has far more impact on running plays when he is inside. Playing him inside on run downs he is able to impact all of them, on passing downs it is easy to move him outside. He needs to be moving around.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Peppers, the ol war horse has given his all but his best days are long done. I can't see re-signing him even to a sweetheart deal.

One of the things about Clay when he plays OLB that is most frustrating is his desire to rush the QB under all circumstances. We have seen him cut inside and let the RB or WR get outside of containment and chew up big yards before someone else brings him down. I may not know the schemes for every player on the Packers defense but I can't believe Clay never has containment responsibilities especially when there are no other defenders around. At least when he is moved inside he seems to realize he has other duties besides the QB.

I think you guys don't understand they the importance of Clay is that he requires double coverage. Yeah, he might get stuffed up but our main issue is not Clay. Having the right tools to make the plays that he opens up however, does.

That's where Peppers comes in. He has got to make those plays. He did in 2014 a good amount of times, but the man isn't 23 anymore. Time to move on, give someone else a chance.

Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
