A scrap heap guy that will probably be gone when Martinez is healthy; but maybe not.

I loved the idea of Tripp in the '14 draft as a late round ILB. He was raw and athletic so you knew it'd take a couple of years; but you'd figure he'd justify his salary on STs until he could pull his positional weight.

He's been on 3 teams/3years and has been decent, not great, on STs, and obviously he's put nothing on tape as a LB for other teams to want him; but he's also been miscast, all the teams he's been on have been 4-3. He is not an MLB. So maybe he will show something more at ILB, we'll see.

Now, when we play Seattle in POs, in Seattle, well be able to heist intel from a D [Tripp] and an O [Michael] guy that played several games on Seattle this year.

I wonder if John Schneider might of suggested working out Jordan Trip to Ted Thompson before the game... as he was on the Seahawks IR and they were releasing him and rules probably say they can't resign him for 6 weeks (even if they wanted to, which they might not of wanted).

I wonder if they wanted someone to compete with Bradford for his ILB spot. But overall I think this has to do with injuries... as not only have both the starting ILBers been injured, but one of their top back-up plans in Matthews has also been injured... mainly leaving just Thomas, Bradford and Burnett as potential back-ups for the area that often calls the plays.

If a personal person likes a player, but there is no place on their team for that player (like there was no room for Trip on the Seahawks) then they might tell others. I mean the Seahawks put Trip on IR just two weeks ago and now he's healthy enough to sign with another team. That's basically getting rid of a player, just like the Packers did with S Banjo and WR Abbrederis.

Because the team/player have to come to terms of an injury settlement, and no team can sign the player until the injury settlement is up and said team in the injury settlement can't sign that play for 6 weeks after the other 31 teams can. So the Seahawks were done with Trip and moved on... why not promote him? This also helps the Seahawks, because if the Packers sign Trip, that's one less team competing for an available player they want... such as LB Ronald Powell, who the Seahawks recently signed to their 53.

He's not going to pump him up like he's something great (if he's not) because that will only hurt the TT/JS relation in the future and he's not going to sell the guy short because it could potentially hurt his reputation if word got out that another GM asked about him and was told he sucked.

On the other hand I could see Schneider saying something like "Hey, if you are still interested in a ILB we have this Trip guy you may be interested in."

The linebacker the Pack need to bring in for a try out is "Adam Bighill" This kid has dominated the CFL playing linebacker for the BC Lions. He would have an immediate positive impact on the Packers linebacker productivity.. He is a beast against the run.

Now... I know some of you are going to attack this suggestion by saying the CFL is a joke. I know this because I got that response from some packerhome members, years ago when I posted and begged the Pack to give another BC lion "Cameron Wake" to a try out.

Perhaps the word "Joke" was not the right choice... Let's say.... "Not good enough."
