Agreed, but if he is playing part time snaps he better give you an idea he is in the game for the amount of money we are paying him.

I want to preface my comments by saying I understand that Lacy will often make his cut to where ever he finds a hole and when he can’t find a hole anywhere he simply keeps stringing the play out looking for an opening. That said Lacy is more effective when he is running up the middle instead of outside. His longest run is considered to be an outside run but he cut back toward the middle of the line to break open.

Middle runs:
(10:51 - 1st) E.Lacy up the middle to JAX 11 for 9 yards (T.Gipson)
(5:56 - 1st) (Shotgun) E.Lacy up the middle to GB 6 for 3 yards (P.Posluszny)
(6:49 - 2nd) (No Huddle, Shotgun) E.Lacy up the middle to GB 42 for 6 yards (T.Smith)
(15:00 - 3rd) (Shotgun) E.Lacy up the middle to GB 26 for 6 yards (P.Posluszny; T.Smith)
(1:28 - 3rd) E.Lacy up the middle to JAX 45 for 3 yards (D.Fowler)
(0:19 - 3rd) E.Lacy up the middle to JAX 15 for 2 yards (J.Cyprien)
(14:12 - 4th) (Shotgun) E.Lacy up the middle to JAX 3 for 3 yards (J.Cyprien)
(13:31 - 4th) (Shotgun) E.Lacy up the middle to JAX 2 for 1 yard (J.Cyprien)

8 plays 33 yards All positive gains 4.1 avg

Outside runs:
(12:41 - 1st) E.Lacy left end to JAX 31 for -2 yards (D.Fowler)
(10:29 - 1st) (Shotgun) E.Lacy right end to JAX 6 for no gain (J.Odrick; T.Smith)
14:56 - 2nd) E.Lacy left end to GB 2 for -1 yards (T.Smith)
(7:48 - 2nd) (Shotgun) E.Lacy right end to GB 30 for 5 yards (P.Posluszny)
(0:56 - 3rd) E.Lacy right end to JAX 17 for 28 yards (J.Cyprien)
(4:13 - 4th) (Shotgun) E.Lacy left end to GB 24 for -2 yards (T.Smith)

6 plays 28 yards 1 no gain 3 TFL 4.7 avg

Also running to the left is a losing proposition. One of the reasons I hated the "I'm not a conservative coach" McCarthy call when they had Lacy run left when they needed 1 yard for a first down. That would have been the game if they had Lacy go right up the middle for 2 yards.

Davonte Adams drives me NUTS!
He drops an easy ball, then turns in some circus catches.
If he can be consistent!!!
And Rodgers had a lot of high throws. If he can get those fixed, he will have a HUGE season.
Again, he made some unreal throws.

Huge win because GB sacrificed the preseason and this made it impossible to be sharp.

A TO followed by a delay penalty. Nelson and Burnett were both rusty and didn't have a single PS snap. Burnett's timing was off on that first PI call and a few others; but that's what Preseason is for. With GB keeping 6 safeties, I wondered if Burnett was hurt; but, he played really fast, just not so great at times.

The run 😨 spectacular. 24 carries; 46 yards. Yeldon got 11 on first 2 plays; 11 on 2 plays before Jax 1st TD and 7 yards on first play of last drive of 1st Q. And for the rest 19 carries 17 yards.

The OL didn't have a single PS snap together; and 4 of the 5 only had a handful and they looked pretty good against a decent front 7. Saw Taylor kill a 3rd down on an out to Jordy, he allowed someone to get right in Rodger face.

Rodgers missed a few throws; but again this game was his preseason too. He held his ground in the pocket; this is huge. He did not take as many snaps in practice this camp.

Rich Rod. 22 yard average for the season-had to get that in while I got the chance.

Everyone played. 5 WRs took snaps. Brice, Ringo, and Fackrell all played on the 22 yarder that Robinson caught twice after getting popped by Dix [Thomas almost had his 2nd INT]. Gunter got quite a few too. Gunter gave up the 37 yarder to Hurns and an 11 yarder to Lewis.

Rollins lost his concentration on a 30 yarder to Hurns; he missed a tackle on the 37 yarder to Lewis [Ryan looked horrible on this one]; he got beat by Lee on the Thomas INT play but knocked the ball away when it was thrown behind; and got beat deep by Thomas for TD. He had good coverage on Thomas, Thomas did a subtle push off at just the right moment to give himself a half step and then there is no defense against the perfectly thrown ball; but he played quite well the rest of his snaps. Remember: including college, this is Rollins' 3rd year!!!!! He will get more consistent.

Shields and Burnett miscommunicated on a 33 yarder to Robinson; not sure who screwed up.

Burnett playing LILB in nickel zone; failed to drop deep enough to allow the 22 yarder that Dix popped Robinson on and then recaught

Shields, Hyde and Randell were shut-down.

3 ILBs looked good; on a few plays Ryan looked really bad.

Future 2016 bodes well for the back 7.

The way they used CM3 was perfect.

We dont have enough fatties to stop the short yardage plays. I think Knighton would be a good pick-up. Even if it's only for 3 games.

Schum. 2 good punts; 1 56 yarder he kicked too far and one 34 yard shank [not bad for a shank]; so no worse than Masthay. Plus a bunch of good holds for Crosby.

You guys bring up a good point about pre-season. It's still obvious they are working things out on both sides. If you can do that and win, it's all gravy.

Thoughts?

+ HHCD really looks like he's in for a big year. He was out there crushing people and making plays.
+ 3 sacks and 10 TFL!
+ Nick Perry and Clay Matthews brought it
+ Rodgers with some amazing throws
+ Lane Taylor wasn't a disaster
+ Joe Thomas was flying around
+ Run D allowed 1.8 average on 26 runs playing Nickel/Dime the whole game
+defensive stop to end the game

- Rollins with a couple bad ones though Bortles did make some good throws on him
- Peppers nowhere to be found
- Gunter didn't look too good either
- Sam Shields with a possible concussion (number 4?)
- Offense with no rythm again and didn't even attempt to challenge the middle of the field
- Ryan did not have a great day
- 3rd/4th down defense was a complete F'ing nightmare

= Burnett with bad penalties but also made a few big plays
= Martinez played fine for his first game nothing stood out
= Lacy made some big plays but he still looked a good bit slower than his first 2 seasons.
= Jordy looked like he gassed pretty quick, not unexpected he still made some big plays.
= Davante made some plays and had an embarrassing drop on what could've been a great play for him.

Give me a 74% success rate every time. Granted 3 more series were converted on 4th down but they did what they needed to on 3rd down.

Always seem to get beaten to the point of attack and our backs just don't have the motor to kick it out quickly then cut it upfield.
