Thanks to the NFL Network, I missed a lot of the first 20 minutes of the game. For some reason NFL thinks we want to watch some assholes in suits blather on about nothing while the game is one. But here are my thoughts:

- I think Callahan has the potential to be an NFL backup QB. Big jump up from DIII and he's had a couple nice drives this preseason. Still a lot of work to do before I'd want to see him in any type of regular season action (knock on wood for no injuries) but perhaps he'd be ready to take over for Hundley as the backup quarterback in a couple years. Worth a PS spot in my opinion.

- Disappointed in the punting Friday night. Really hoping Mortell can earn the spot and provide an upgrade over Masthay but Friday night dampened those hopes.

- Thought Adams made a nice play on that receiver screen that was called back (didn't actually see the hold but maybe it was off screen). Then was disappointed in his failure to catch that post route for a touchdown. Great hands and a 39 inch vertical were supposed to be his strong points coming out of college. That hasn't translated at all in the first two years. He has to have that catch, even if the throw was led too far up field.

- Think the defense has looked good. Three games played and three games holding the opponents to under 200 yards. Defense is responsible for less than 10 ppg. Then again, it's preseason and none of their opponents have been offensive juggernauts (though Oakland may turn into one).

I like the fact that more than a few of the UDFA's are making the coaches stand up and take notice.

The fact that Aaron Rodgers has only played 2 series in 3 games and still The Packers are 3-0 is a tribute to Ted for picking these guys up and the coaches for getting them ready to play.

Preseason is all about your young guys against the opponents young guys, who can stand out, and it has been a very good 3 weeks for The Packers young guys.

1st cuts are due by this Tuesday, not going to be to hard to drop 15 guys,.

Final cuts will be a different story.

I'm not going to get all caught up in evaluating this guy or what is wrong with that guy, IMHO it's pretty silly, Mike and Dom aren't going to show a damn thing in preseason.

We as fans have no idea who is doing what in closed practices.

Jacksonville is right around the corner, weather will probably be brutal, Packers are going to be short on the D-line.

Still going with the premise there will be quite a shake up at the bottom of the roster throught the 1st 6 weeks.

You all can go back to your over analysis of every little thing.

I'm going to enjoy the next week and watch some really raw guys get one more shot a making a lifelong dream come true.

BTW.........Mcguinn is a complete idiot.

I hear a lot of people saying that Joe Callahan isn't an NFL player on other sites. That may be true, but I have one thought about that. If Brett Hundley had the exact same performance Joe had against the 49'ers, several folks would be talking about how he's the next Aaron Rodgers/franchise QB. I realize there's a little more tape on Hundley and probably more physical tools, but there's not much tape on Hundley either. Perspective is a funny thing.

He would be plucked from the practice squad in a heartbeat.
I used to be high on Hundley, but I think Callahan is better, he just doesn't have the pedigree.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
