So you think Davis will be cut? I think that's a possibility as well but more of a longshot imo
I don't know the answer to any of these questions, but about how often do 5th round picks get cut their rookie year? Also do those picks usually get claimed off waivers?
I think Davis's speed and return abilities might be too tempting to let go.

It seems as every time the Packers draft a WR with speed and/or return abilities, fans seem to think those skill sets are too important to let go.
2006: 4th round pick, WR Cory Rodgers had to make the roster because of his college return skills... yet he never made an NFL roster and only lasted a month on any teams practice squad.
2007: 5th round pick: WR David Clowney had to make the roster because of his 4.40 timed speed (some reports said he timed faster than that too). Fans said Clowney was the clear guy to set the WR group over the top, especially over the slow 3rd round pick (James Jones). Over 5 years, Clowney was able to get 22 catches for 341 yards... none with the Packers as he never made the Packers roster.
2013: 7th round pick: WR Charles Johnson had to make the roster because of his 4.39 speed and potential. There was an injury problem that the Packers didn't find and another team claimed him.
2014: 7th round pick: WR Jeff Janis had to make the roster because of his 4.42 speed and potential. Now Janis has made the roster a couple of times now... but I think we can all agree he hasn't lived up to the hype that the fans have set for his speed...
2016: 5th round pick: WR Trevor Davis has to make the roster because of his 4.42 speed and return skills. When it seems like the WRs that excite the fans with speed the most, are the ones that don't make the transition as well.

In fact off the top of my head, I'm not sure if any rookie draft picks have been claimed right after the Packers cut them. Though they have made a couple of trades after teams showed interested in making claims but wanted first priority and not letting the other teams have a chance at claiming said player.
Panthers for LS J.J. Jansen (though it was his 2nd year after his draft)
Jets for G Caleb Schlauderaff
