Aaron Rodgers also has small hands for a QB.
I'll have to see if I can find a piece I read back when we drafted him about his hands compared to other WR's...there were plenty with as small or smaller hands who were very successful in the NFL. As for the body catcher thing, that's what they said about Antonio Freeman when we drafted him. He turned out pretty well for us.
One thing Janis has is jets, strength and lateral agility. He should be able to make plenty people miss, run over some who don't, and run it in for 6 just like in St. Louis. I'm trying very hard to recall a player who was as electric as he was with the Pack. Randall and that play vs. New Orleans where he ran the wrong route for 6 in his NFL debut is about the closest that comes to mind. He just looked fast forward.
Clearly, Janis is a stud in the making...he doesn't get rostered last year if he wasn't thought to be because other teams were just waiting to pluck him from our PS, and our org was wise enough this time not to let that happen. It learned from it's mistake with Charles Johnson.
Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
