Davante Adams has started 23 games in his first two seasons, he hasn’t played well. Last year he averaged just 9.7 yards a catch and scored just one touchdown. Based on merit — rather than on draft position — it’s hard to see how he’d win a roster spot unless he shows dramatic improvement in the next four months.

ALL the WRs struggled last season, not just Davante.

That's why I blame the common denominator.

Unless he looks like a dud this training camp, then of course he makes it.

He struggled as all the WRs did (in part because Rodgers struggled more than he ever has since his rookie year) but Adams clearly had a injured ankle he was playing on. He was fighting through it at times, but other times the pain seemed to be getting to him. Cobb was also hurt with his shoulder injury.

I know one of the WRs is going to have to hit IR or be cut but its not going to be Adams, I've got a lot of confidence in our top 4 having a bounce back year. Abbrederis vs Janis vs Davis for the last two spots with the smart money on Abbrederis being left out imo.

Ted does tend to keep the "best 53," even if he has to keep 3 FBs or 5 TEs, but odds are they're only going to keep 6 WRs this year.

Having versatile guys like Monty and Cobb helps though. Might enable Ted to keep one less RB, although I do like Crockett. One more reason to see Kuhn go.

I think he'll make it. I expect the running game to actually help the passing game this year. I have a theory about our WR, though and I am curious to hear wht you think. I think in the days of Driver/Nelson, you had big, tough receivers that would make you pay for jamming at the line. With Driver retired nd Nelson hurt, I think our guys played wimpy last year and the jam coverage really threw them off, disrupting the timing and leding to a poor performance by both WR and QB.

Hoss, I think you have a point. But I don't think of Driver as a "big, tough receiver". However, he did learn how to get off jams and get separation.

edit: And Driver was pretty tough for his size.
