Aaron Rodgers is part of the solution, not part of the problem. Someone said that defenses aren't respecting the long ball because he can't throw it. Well, the defenses may not be respecting the long ball, but it is because Aaron Rodgers has a bad offensive line trying to protect him. No one can convince me that if Aaron Rodgers has time... he would not absolutely torch a defense deep, bad shoulder and all. I see no indication of his injury inhibiting him, and if it is, the NFL better watch out because that would mean he is only going to get better...IF we can block for him, or for that matter, block period. Bench Aaron Rodgers? His mobility is the only thing keeping us at all competitive as an offense. Our linemen are simply not good enough. I will continue my tirade against this line until proven otherwise. The thought of benching Aaron Rodgers is ridiculous. If he gets hurt, Matt Flynn can come in and get his butt creamed, thankyou very much o-line...

I love that after a loss I am almost guaranteed to find a smorgasbord of idiocy on here.

Thanks for not dissapointing.

It is...

Ahhhh never mind.. can't win when you are getting killed at the LOS.. and a rookie QB into the meat grinder isn't going to help our push to the playoffs.. if we could attack on the run maybe.. but

WAIT! I love the idea!

A guy who rode the pine studying the game for three years behind a legend isn't scoring 40 points a game for us so maybe a guy who has never started a game or even been in the NFL for a full season will!

Let's go FLYNN baby!!!

We're one game out of the playoff race, with 7 to go, and people want to throw in the towel? After losing two away games to teams with winning records in the last seconds? What the hell?????

Never did say throw in the towel, said we should give Aaron a few weeks rest to recupe so that should we make the playoffs we have a chance.

If we rest him for one week we lose that week and take our sixth loss of the season. You wanna rest him next week and fall two games behind the Bears with six games to go? If we rest him for two it's over. Let's worry about making the playoffs first, then we can worry about winning a playoff game.

Playing a rookie QB at this point would be dumb. We might as well say the season is over because I cannot see us winning a game with either of the other two QB's in there.

We would be resting Arod for what? The offseason? That's all we would be looking at if they did this. What does this tell the team? Towels in the ring and it's over?

Look, we have lost two very close and very tough football games that we may very well should have won and are still in the North fight with Chicago having lost.

Let's not lose our minds here.

I think we can definitively say that this is the worst idea ever proposed on this site.

one game out of the division lead and we should completely destroy any sense of development in Aaron Rodgers and for that matter Matt Flynn. because putting Flynn behind this line would do nothing but turn him into David Carr Jr.

I'm not making excuses... but like Warhawk said... its two tough losses against pretty tough opponents. But its hardly time to start firing anyone yet, (except maybe Clifton and maybe Campen if you think its time to make a statement).

I guess just take solace in the fact that we are the youngest team in the NFL with a first year starter at QB. It can really only go up from here.

2005 = bad oline play, bad d play no talent, BF trying to make a play

2008 Aaron Rodgers fault

At least that is what I am understanding from certain posters?

Fire McCarthy. Fire Thompson. Bring back Sherman. Offer the Jets our next 5 1st round picks for Favre.

Amirite???

Did I adequately meet the level of psychosis in this thread's title?

Pulling Rodgers out at this point almost guarantees no playoffs this year. It's also a definitive statement by the powers that be that they don't have faith in the team's ability to fight and get to the playoffs. Two big reasons not to do that.

Firing someone? While I've been on the record that our D coordinator is sub-standard (I don't know how else to explain the total inability to stop the run or pressure the opposing QB at this point; if we didn't have an amazing secondary we'd have given up talking about the playoffs weeks ago), I don't see how that would do much more than bother the players a little bit at this point.

I think I am ready, however, to see a major shakeup on O-line. College needs to either be out or move out to LT and see what he can do there. Sitton needs to be in the damn games. Babre should get another look-see as well. I just don't think McCarthy has put any fear at all into that unit, in terms of giving them the idea that poor play has negative consequences. If they don't want to block for Rodgers, let 'em go try out for the Jets.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
