Mel Kiper Jr. sticking with pass-rusher for Packers in first round

I've got this guy on my board for the 4th round. Lol still researching tho, I'm open to alternative views.

It's my primary position of need, though.

Haven't heard a lot about the guy he's picking at all. Perhaps he is expecting a run on OLBs?

Like you I put Correa in the fourth. I might stretch with the third (since weird astrology or something might mean he is BPA by that point), but in the first? No way.

It would have to be a really big run. OLB is pretty deep with lots of talent at fourth round and above, though. I have a real hard time imagining a better OLB not being available both late second and late third.

Drafting Correa in the first would be a bigger stretch than Jon Michels was. It would be like Minnesota going with that Underwood guy. The only Packer comparative I can think of that's bigger in terms of the number of spots stretched is when Thompson stretched for Khyri Thornton or maybe for that safety from Maine whose name I can't remember.

I know nothing about draft stock but even I was left scratching my head with the pick of Thornton.

11. Kamalei Correa*, OLB, Boise State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 243. Arm: 31.63.
40 Time: 4.69.
Projected Round (2016): 3-5.
3/11/16: Correa is an edge defender who will have to get stronger for the NFL if he is going to stay on the edge. He totaled 39 tackles with 11 for a loss, seven sacks and three forced fumbles in 2015. His best season came as a sophomore when he notched 59 tackles, 19 for a loss, two forced fumbles, and 12 sacks. The junior's best fit could come as an inside/outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. He had an impressive workout at the combine.

It only makes sense to revise a mock draft because teams are going to pick up FAs and their draft needs change. That makes different players available for the teams who draft in the mid 20's and later. The bares needed ILB as well. Some early drafts had them filling that need int he draft. It makes no sense for them to do so now.

With all that said Mel is a tool and I have no doubt he makes so many selections to hedge his bet. That he is advocating Correa is not such a surprise when you realize Uncle Teddy is smarter than everyone else and he loves to pick a player 2-3 rounds earlier than any one else just to prove that he is running the show.

I dont do mocks....because I can't be bothered to worry about what other teams' needs/draft practices are except in general terms of whether players I want to be available for GB might be interesting to some of them.

For the first time, however, I'm actually putting together a "big board". (If I can get it done before the draft starts, and figure out how to post spreadsheet data here of approx 10 players per 12 position columns split by half round (rounds 1,2,3A) or full round (rounds 3B-7)).

Who needs sleep?

I used to find entertainment in mocks, but now every prick with a keyboard is shoving version 1-34,000 down our throats. Give me a TOP PROSPECTS list by position and overall and THAT is valuable because prospects can rise/fall with fluidity. To think an outsider has a damn clue what any, (let alone ALL 32 teams) needs are or salary cap thinking or inside information ... preposterous.

I respect mock drafts in the light of it being their opinion. The massive amount of "do-overs" err sorry mock VERSIONS is appalling.

Mucky Tundra (5h) : All the stuff I'm reading from Lions fans are pointing at his toe; he more or less has permanent turf toe in one of his big toes
dfosterf (6h) : Kenny played through it, and a shame he gets little credit for that, imo
dfosterf (6h) : Big men. I hope it's not the undoing of Kenny Clark
dfosterf (6h) : Probably his toe. Pretty much a great center. Toe injuries are brutal to bigen
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Lions All-Pro C Frank Ragnow retires
wpr (30-May) : It's all good.
beast (30-May) : Yeah, and I enjoyed your comments and just attempted to add to it. Sorry if I did it incorrectly.
wpr (30-May) : Beast I never said Henderson was the salt of the earth. Nor even that he was correct. Just quoting the guy.
Zero2Cool (29-May) : What did you do??
Zero2Cool (29-May) : Whoa
beast (29-May) : OMG the website is now all white, even some white on white text
beast (29-May) : Henderson, who admits to taking cocaine during the Super Bowl against the Steelers, might dislike Bradshaw as he lost two Superbowls to him
wpr (28-May) : Hollywood Henderson said Bradshaw “is so dumb, he couldn't spell 'cat' if you spotted him the C and an A.”
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : Cooper stock=BUY BUY BUY
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : Also notes he’s playing with more confidence.
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : @AndyHermanNFL MLF says there was a time last year where Cooper was at 220 pounds. Now he’s at 240 and still flying around.
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : And don't even get me started on Frank Caliendos "impersonations"
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : I got tired of them being circle jerks with them overlaughing at each others jokes.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : It used to be must watch TV for me. now it's "meh" maybe to hear injury update
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : I haven't watched the pregame shows in years and I don't feel like I've missed a thing
Zero2Cool (28-May) : Love says knee affected him all season, groin injury didn't help matters.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : I used to enjoy him on FOX Pregame. Now it's like a frat party of former Patriots.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : He wad all butt hurt because Aaron duped the media saying he was immunized.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : Bradshaw needs to retire. He's been ripping on Rodgers ever since the covid crap. He was all hury
Zero2Cool (28-May) : Terry Bradshaw doesn't want Rodgers in Pittsburgh lol wow
Zero2Cool (27-May) : one day contract, which he also feels is pointless, but if Packers came to him, he would

Zero2Cool (20-May) : lol our email hasn't worked in months. 7 pages of unverified users
Zero2Cool (20-May) : MySpace Screaming Lord Byron ... Brett Favre.
Zero2Cool (19-May) : Packers have signed first-round pick Matthew Golden, leaving second-round tackle Anthony Belton as their only unsigned draft pick
beast (19-May) : Supposedly he has to take his image, and name off of it... but otherwise could keep selling wine if he wanted to.
Zero2Cool (19-May) : he giving up his win business?
beast (19-May) : Speaking of Woodson, sounds like he'll be a minority owner (0.1%) of the Browns
Mucky Tundra (15-May) : Zero, regarding Woodson, that'd why I find the timing with Williams peculiar
dfosterf (15-May) : Ryan Hall y'all does a great job of tracking thesr
Zero2Cool (15-May) : Fear not!! I planned to do 33mi bike ride tomorrow morning, so ... yeah
