Another positive point or two.

The Packers have recent Playoff experience, the Redskins do not.

The Packers will play the Redskins in Washington,D.C. , not the sub-freezing frozen tundra. The field will be soaked from recent rains and could help the WR's vs the CB's & Safeties as they make cuts on their routes.

No rain and little wind is expected this playoff game. Therefor dryer hands and footballs could aid the Packers grip on the ball in play.

The Packers have Aaron Rodgers, while the Redskins QB will be starting his 1st ever NFL Playoff game !

The Packers will be able to sleep latter on Sunday and that lessens the fatigue of traveling.

Go Pack Go !!!

I don't think the sky is falling, I think we have a beat to shit offense. They'll be back in form next year, but what shouldn't have happened was the thinning of our receiving and tight end corps that's taken place over the last five years. You don't run the kind of offense we have and not be stacked at the pass catching positions.

And why keep your third running back as a prototype of your starter. The third running back should be a little scat back that can handle kickoffs, catching passes, and occasionally running from scrimmage. What we have going on is a waste of a roster spot with our 3rd running back because the player never sees action.

Also, more capable backup offensive lineman need to be in place. When you have to move your guard over to play tackle, it's a recipe for disaster.

Agreed about the backup OL. It's always been Ted's belief that you can get by with just "guys." Apparently.

I think the sky would be falling if the team was old and we were in financial straits. We have a young team. Most of the key guys are locked up to decent contracts cap-wise. We just need to get our franchise player's confidence back. Aaron Rodgers is 32 and probably has about 5-7 more years. He road the pine for the first 3 years so I would hope his body is a young 32. I honestly think a top notch sports psychologist on this team would go a long way.

46 this year alone.
Clearly the man has taken a beating and surely that takes a toll regardless of what he said.
Running for his life and getting slammed to the turf on a regular basis isn't going to make anyone feel young.

Is the sky falling ? No but it's cloudy out and the Packers can try all the mostly sunny crap they want we all see clouds and the every other week thunderstorm. [twocents]

Rodgers has said he's sore and such before. I listen, I pay attention. If it was public relations I wouldn't have mentioned it. I think Aaron finding that balance is encouraging and this thread I think is about positives and well I think it's positive that the best player on the Packers roster feels confident he's found said balance. Now if we can just get a damn offensive line (Wade!!) for the man! lol

I came into this thread wanting to read the positives; there is enough negativity out there already. So:

1. Richard Rodgers - he will never be a speed receiver, but he has been better as a blocker and has proven his sure hands. Rodgers can be a very good red-zone TE going forward, and would be great in twin-TE packages if we get a Finley-esque player at Te.

2. Mike Pennel - he has shown flashes, which show progress by making plays throughout the season. Even if Raji returns, having a big body like Pennel who can handle and shed double-teams is a positive. I'd say Pennel has actually shown up more on "flashier" plays than Guion.

3. Jeff Janis - he has blossomed as a special teams gunner. His speed is always noted, but he has consistently used it on special teams this season. Makes his case for playing time on offense a lot stronger since it gives you hope he can grow and develop if given time.

4. Mike McCarthy taking back play calling. It's easy to criticize, but we've had great success with McCarthy as a play caller. McCarthy is a great play caller. Should bode well for our offense next year.

5. Datone Jones - he still has consistency issues, but at least he flashed potential of the pass-rushing problems he can create. He looks worthy of being a first rounder, which is more than can be said of some of Ted's other first rounders.

6. Jayrone Elliot - he has had his moments. For a young player, you want to see progress on the field when he gets chances. He has shown flashes of production. He is still raw, but a potential OLB rotation of Peppers, Clay, Neal, and Elliot is something to build on. (assuming Neal is resigned and Clay is moved back to OLB)

7. Rollins and Randal - like someone else said, they have potential and have looked capable. Shields / Rollins / Randall / Hyde is a solid CB rotation.

Zero2Cool (9m) : Merry Christmas!
beast (8h) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (16h) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (21h) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (23h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
