How bad does this dude have to be if he hasn't even seen the field yet? Jeff Janis has gotten offensive snaps! 😂

Granted, this staff have a history of holding guys out in order to teach them a lesson about how to go about your business as a pro. But damn! It's gotten to the point where IMHO we should give him a snap or two, send him down the seam. What's the worst that could happen, he'd take up a roster spot and not get open? Drop the ball?

The Packers got Finley involved his rookie year like that. They gave him a special play, which of course he promptly F'd up and tried to blame it on Aaron. But that whole experience was a great learning opportunity for him. I personally believe it did him alot of good.

Now whether Backman is Finley or closer to Tyrone Davis/Donald Lee/DJ Williams and the host of other guys at this position who never panned out remains to be seen. But hey man, I wouldn't mind seeing him run down the field a couple times.

After that demoralizing beat down they underwent in Arizona they should be willing to try anything. The status quo isn't working.

Backman made one play up the seam in the pre-season and that's all I remember. I don't remember his snaps during the regular season being anything worthy of increased playing time. Guy's a project. Justin Perillo was playing well before he got hurt. That seems to be the case all around our offense this year. Shame.

Forget it we could have cut him before the season started. It just didn't work.

He has ok size at 6' 3" and 245 lbs and runs too high and isn't that great of a blocker and ran the forty 4.66. I'm not going to hold my breath on him being any kind of weapon. I think Andrew Quarless will be more of an asset to the offense.

It's really too bad Colt Lyerla is a mental midget because at 6' 4" and 242 lbs with a 4.61 combined with his athleticism (Backman lacks this big time), he could really have had a good 8 - 10 year professional career in the NFL.

But with this staff, you really have to earn your way onto the field. Janis made the active roster through ST.

We might as well try it out. Offense can't get worse then what it is now.

Bring Holmgren back to call the plays and we might send a TE up the seam. McCarthy is afraid of the short middle of the field for anything but a check down.

How bad off is the team if a rookie 6th round pick is our secret weapon.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
