Honestly I thought our pass rush was ok. Rivers was just getting the ball out really fast. We did get what, 3 sacks?

#3 Capers seriously has a problem if he thinks the same defense that worked against Cutler will work against Rivers.

PLEASE: I don't want Payton Manning to get the record for most TDs or most yards by a guy over 38 or something liket that. No more records, no more first times.

First time a QB threw for over 500 yards with no picks and lost. I like that record.

Sometimes ya gotta give the other team credit. Rivers was absolutely brilliant. This maybe the greatest QB performance of all time! Their OL was BAAAAAD; our pass rush was very good; a hostile in Lambeau against a really good secondary. Top RB out. Missing his #2 receiver and #1 went out during the game. Who has thrown for 500 yards under these conditions?

There is no defense against the perfect pass. All a CB does is knock down less than perfect pass; the worse the CB the less perfect the pass has to be. For most of Rivers' passes there was a defender right there.

The rush was good. How about that play where CM3 exploded on Rivers in like .10 second and he COMPLETED the pass. Like I said BRILLIANT!

That said a D designed to have Hyde cover Inman or Allen is STUPID. Love the cross fire blitz and OLBs dropping into coverage; but its STUPID to have Peppers or Neal covering that little leprechaun or Oliver in the flat because Rivers will just dump it there, Rivers is not Cutler. But, Rivers exploited those mismatches.

The Glass Half Full:
- J. Starks: Not only he run well, he was perfect in pass protection, I keep thinking Starks could be a star in many other teams.

The Glass Half Empty:
- T. Clemments: What a disaster, Starks run for 90 yards in the 1st qtr and you let him touch the ball 7 (!!!!) times in the rest of the game. This wasn't a game to get too cute, our offense is pass wacky, imbalanced and lacks rhythm.

And I believe Starks only touched the ball once on a NON-scoring drive, it was odd, if he touched the ball they seemed to get at least a FG out of the drive, but if he didn't touch the ball on a drive it seemed to fail. I'm sure that's just random one game pattern but interesting none the less. Also Rodgers over threw him on one play where he could of scored if he had a catchable pass (and caught it).

The Glass Half Empty:
- D.Capers: You gave 500+ yards and 32 first downs playing at home. Enough said.

I thought Rivers played amazing. How many of those throws were perfect checks after he spotted the rush coming? How many of those completions were back shoulder throws? It seemed like quite a few. My point is the Packers threw a ton of different looks at them but it didn't matter, Rivers was just in the zone. He is a top 10 quarterback who at times has played like a top 5 guy, today especially.

Getting Raji, Burnett, Perry, and Adams back will fix alot of problems. My bigger concern right now is the offense, with how banged up the WRs are and ineffective the running game has looked lately....well lets just hope getting Adams back is the magical fix.

I may be the only person, but I enjoy wins like this where everything seems to go wrong.

The defense gives up 500 yd on 65 pass attempts, but only allowed 20 points and held at the goal line when it mattered most.

Offense gets out to an early lead, then goes completely dead. Ty Montgomery gets hurt and Lacy clearly isnt healthy. With the Chargers catching up, Packers drive down the field and score a touchdown when we really needed it.

Nothing is ever easy in the playoffs. This team is becoming battle tested early. They have faced adversity and still come out victorious. Sort of a "back against the wall" mentality. The 2011 Packers blew out teams for the first 13 weeks, got punched in the mouth and didn't know how to react. That won't happen with this team.

Rivers threw it to Gates the first time and Randall was there, he threw it to Woodhead the second time and Randall was there... it's possible if Rivers threw it to Woodhead the first time, Randall might of been there as well... even though he did look a bit further off that first time than the second time.

But as I said about that second time, it looked like Randall could of had a pick 6 and didn't even try to catch it, but just went for the simple play of knocking it away on 4th down. So being a little further r away on the first play it was possible he could of gotten to it and knocked it down...

The other thing was Randall was reading the QB, if Rivers isn't looking towards Woodhead, he can and did cheat a bit towards Gates on the first one. Then he moved towards Woodhead when he looked that way... so Randall was in the general area and reading the QB so Woodhead wasn't alone and completely wide open, there was a CB there, who made the play when it went to that guy.

If that;s what you meant, yeah maybe ....... but there woulda been around a minute left on the clock and a fairly strong chance Rodgers woulda brought the Packers back to win it with a field goal. Anyway, we woulda beat 'em in overtime. My big fear was that they would score the TD and decide to go for two and the win. That woulda really sucked.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?

beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
