I'm still celebrating a huge victory, being virtually 3 games ahead of Seattle is a huge thing for us, I really really hope not to play Seattle again this season but if we have to then I hope it will be at home.

I've seen many good and bad things in yesterday's game here are some comments:

The glass half full:

- Montgomery: This is IMO a very special player, he is not just another WR, I think he can play TE and RB, so we have a WR/TE/RB hybrid and the best QB in the NFL, it has to be an explosive combo. I'm specially happy because all the comments point to this kid being very smart, I can only imagine how many plays we can design for him.

- Elliot: It will be very very very hard to explain if Perry has more snaps than Elliot in the next game. I see Elliot as a young version of Peppers, he is very quick from the snap and he clearly has a talent for making plays.

- R.Rodgers: I think it is time to prepare the chmurization ceremony for him. He is playing a heck of a game. I find it funny that the only two guys we can't replace are named Rodgers.

- BJ: This will raise some hairs (hi!) but he is playing for redemption, and he is clearly doing a strong effort. I'm very happy about this.

The glass half empty:

- Hayward: I know several people like him but I would like to sit down with them and watch every snap Hayward has played for us, it is crystal clear to me that he is afraid of contact. There's a Wilson run where Hayward was in front of him and tried to avoid tackling him! I'm not talking about missing a tackle I'm talking about trying not to tackle at all!. Wilson, for whatever reason, went down and Hayward carefully touched him to put it down by contact. Please watch the play it is sad and funny at the same time.

- Burnett: Ha Ha makes a lot of mistakes, he is like a Jar Jar Binks for our defense, for some reason his mistakes are funny. Yet I keep hearing how Burnett is a critical piece in our defense. Except missing tackles I never see Burnett doing anything, he is constantly out of position. Maybe I'm not seeing something.

Go Pack!

Well Burnett led our team in tackles last year, so I dunno man. But he's certainly not a pro-bowler.

How do you know where Burnett is or is not supposed to be? You honestly think McCarthy and Capers are going to play a player who is constantly out of position?

You are right I can't assert that he is out of position but in most plays you see Ha Ha participating in some way and Burnett is nowhere to be seen. He is also nowhere to be seen in the deep passes so my guess is that he is frequently out of position.

There was a long pass that Wilson overthrown where Hyde was beaten, Ha Ha was nearby but wouldn't have arrived to help, burnett was nowhere to be seen.

Then we have a couple of runs where Ha Ha made the tackle or dove to the pile after the tackle, Burnett was not in the area.

The only time I saw his number was in a very badly missed tackle of Lynch, then he did almost nothing.

Unless it is a play in the middle of the field, I wouldn't expect both to be in on the play. If one creeps up for run support the other is normally covering deep, if they are both back they are each responsible for a side.

I've never been a huge fan of Burnette, but our run day clearly looked better with him in the box last night. Hats off to Perry, Neal, and Elliot for providing pressure and great run stopping in those cut back lanes most of the night! RAJI was playing like a man on fire. If he keeps this up he's inline for an extension.

Maybe this is because when the TV shows something Burnett is assigned to the other side of the field but it would be strange for this to happen all the time.

Maybe instead of saying "constantly out of position" I should have said "frequently away from the play".

Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
