+1 all about. There will be some dead money involved next year, something Ted Thompson has been so very excellent at minimizing, but make no mistake, KGB gets his full pay for the rest of the year. I hate dead money... If you ever want to see something really ugly, go look at the Vikes dead money situation. I almost (almost) feel sorry for vikesrule and formo in that particular department. This was not a money thing.

I loved KGB, class act and he will be missed, but his production was not impressive at all this year. This was a little surprising to me considering the lack of depth there, but i think we all knew it would happen sooner or later.

Well, now that its done, where do they stand on the DL?

from packers.com:

LDE 74 Aaron Kampman 99 Jeremy Thompson* 93 Kenny Pettway
LDT 79 Ryan Pickett 90 Colin Cole
RDT 97 Johnny Jolly 91 Justin Harrell
RDE 96 Michael Montgomery 99 Jeremy Thompson* 57 Jason Hunter

So, kampman, picket, jolly monty/thompson on the first team, i sort of expect thompson to start with his good play the last couple games

and kampman, monty, jolly/cole, and thompson on passing downs?

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but i seem to remember in TC talk of monty playing a lot on the inside.

I want to revise, quite a bit, actually... I'm pretty sure it wasn't a money thing.

It's true that he's getting the money offered at the end of the year, but look at the rest of the roster. Pettway could've been the odd man out.

I think they view pettway as a player they can develop, whereas KGB is declining. Really this seams to scream more of a long term move than anything, as i dont know that its really all that positive in the short term, considering depth. But getting some of these guys that playing time instead of KGB will be a very big positive for the future of the team, if they plan on keeping any of these guys around. At some point you've got to throw these guys out there and see what they really have to offer.

It also sends a very clear message to the rest of the players, that no matter what you've done in the past, no matter how much you make, if you do not perform you wont be playing.

The Packers just keep getting younger and younger, moves like this have to effect the thinking of other veteran players.

Justin Harrell hasn't proved a thing,hopefully he stays hea;thy.

KGB won't be unemployed long, good luck to him.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

There goes my favorite player. Now I'll never be able to get his jersey :<

With the way he played this year though, this was bound to happen sooner or later. Especially with his salary....

I love how he once against shows what a great guy he in his statement. I have nothing but respect for this man.

Yeah speechless. He has obviously declined but I have a lot of great memories of him. He will land on his feet somewhere in the NFL for sure.

Wich I still can't buy, since I don't have a CC and there'll be about a 115 dollar shipping fee to Europe šŸ˜›. But this is getting a bit off-topic.

I see everyone is pretty confident he's getting on a new team though. So what team would actually have him? Realistically, he hasn't stopped the run in his entire career and his pass-rushing has been less than average this season. Only his vision seemed to be good, dropping back in coverage etc. when not getting blocked and what not.

We're a team that needs help on the D-line and we're releasing him... so what team would actually sign him?
