Pretty interesting. I think you should still consider the teams on other PS/training camps in that number, but still clearly the Packers have the lowest numbers of that.

Ted created a system that is appealing to UDFAs knowing they have a legitimate chance, which then adds a lot of dirt cheap, yet hungry help to your roster. Hopefully Gunter will add to the list of cheap but productive play for this team.

Finding those cheap but productive players is essential when you are paying a few of your top guys a big chunk of your salary cap. The Packers have found a way to do it (11 guys take up about 67% of the cap) and the Seahawks are going to find out real quick just how important it is (11 guys 80%) I think it is much more reasonable to find those players through the draft as the FAs are generally going to cost you more money, even the guys who are not the big names are going to cost more than the rookies and 1st contract guys.

The bottom line is that it doesn't matter where you find your players as long as you can afford them and they can get the job done.

Ted's approach is generally more stable than, say, the Broncos who are about to get killed by some huge contracts.

You're right about the top-heavy costs for teams, like the Seahawks are about to deal with.
