As has already been well chronicled in his short time with the Packers, Gunter went undrafted primarily because he ran incredibly poorly in physical tests — his 4.69-second 40 was the slowest of all 14 cornerbacks who ran at the NFL scouting combine this year. But he has good height (6-feet-11/2) and size (202 pounds) for his position and appears to be a technically sound.

Sounds like another 'tweener. Dom must be in heaven. With that size, he could be after Richardson's job.

A source confirmed that the injury isn’t related to Abbrederis’ knee...

Here's an exciting tidbit:

The gunners for the No. 1 punt-cover team were cornerback Demetri Goodson and receiver Jeff Janis.

Wilde's report.

It’s clear the Packers have no interest in reliving their NFC Championship Game loss to the Seattle Seahawks. You can almost feel players cringe whenever it’s brought up – not because they are still depressed about the outcome, but because the questions have jumped the shark – and the stock answer from coach Mike McCarthy and others is that it’s a new team and a new year. That’s true, but it’s not that new of a team, considering that 21 of the 22 players who started that Jan. 18 game in Seattle are still on the roster.

To me it's not just about that ONE game. It's something that has plagued this team for years. Hopefully it has been remedied.

Abby, welcome to IR for a 2nd straight year. We weren't sure we could've kept you otherwise. My boy Larry Pinkard with a nice play today.

Abby.....the guy couldn't stay healthy at Wisconsin and now with GB. The guy has talent, but seems to be accident prone.
If he can't make it through the preseason, I don't see him making the team.
I really like the guy. Hate to not see him reach his potential here.

Shields as gunner didn't work so well because he couldn't beat press man or at least struggled a lot with it.

I'm excited to see this Gunter kid in preseason. Any rookies getting a lot of work with 1s and 2s this early is interesting to me because it seems like this team usually give vets the early reps like they did when Lacy and HHCD came in and they had to start out as the #2 or 3.

I was thinking they could be bad news for Goodson if he's got 3 rookies coming in looking better than him already.

Like you, can't wait to see if a guy who can really play can hang with being so speed deficient. The question hangs over over him like a cloud and I think the team can't wait to find out, either.

I like the sound of him; I a big fan of tall peeps and dont like it when we draft or sign shot peeps - so hope this guy makes it - be decent vs tall WRs ie chicagos new guy kevin white and the other dude that I forgot his name etc ...

none of these short guys ... although I do like shields but rather he have 3 more inches to his height.

Slow CBs need to know how to bump and run, and that's what Gunter is best at... though he still has a lot of work at it. But Packers have had slow CBs in Al Harris and Tramon Williams who mainly played bump and run do very well. I think Gunter could become another very good bump and run CB but he's going to have a growing process and I wouldn't put him up with those other two guys. But sounds like he's past CB Goodson already.

With that size, he could be after Richardson's job.
