Would it be wrong to say a Top 5 GM wouldn't operate in such a manner?

As far as Pruitt, I know little about the guy and am not saying he could or couldn't be great. However, I believe he was part of a pick swap. I believe the Lions moved up for the Vikes' 3rd in a swap, and gave up their 5th. If the Packers did that, no Hundley...more on this below.

As for Gresham...we agree. I figured it was a low risk, at minimum low reward move. Wish we could have got him here.

As far as Jimmy G - we'd all love his receiving talents, but as I alluded to above, who are you giving up for him...he doesn't come for free. Seattle gave up an All Pro and a 1st for him. Who is the All Pro on the Packers that you give up?

Aside from me agreeing with you on Gresham I'm not even really opining on Jimmy G and the draft/Pruitt. My point is there are consequences. It's easy to say Ted's an idiot and complain about cherry picked examples of who you want here when you don't consider the flip side of the coin. I'm happy we have Hundley - will be more valuable than Pruitt? I don't know that yet. With Jimmy G lets say we give up Sitton or Cobb for him. We all probably feel better about TE, but how do you feel about WR or guard?

We had Chmura during our SB win with Favre. Was that good enough for Wolf? Nope. Went out and added Keith Jackson...a STAR TE. When we suffered what appeared to be a crippling loss to the receiving corps, Wolf goes out and gets Bad Moon Rison. He was always trying to reload and WIN. I still think we should've been back to back to back. Horrible loss to Denver and then the non Jerry Rice fumble T.O. catch game. We were plenty good enough to be the first 3 peat in NFL SB history.

Jimmy Graham would've cost us a 1st (Randall) and who? I don't know. We really didn't have much to offer. I would've given them our 1st and Davante and never thought twice but I doubt the Saints would've wanted him. The cupboard was bare coming into this season and draft and it's as bare now as it was then. That's shameful to me.

Swinging for the fence doesn't always work either, though. I know it was our favorite Sherman pulling the strings, but what did going for Joe Johnson and "Hardly" Nickerson do for us? I'm glad Ted didn't sign Steven Jackson, it worked infinitely better with Lacy in terms of youth, cost, and production.

Like you said, I don't even know if we would have had what NO would have wanted in a trade. With Bradin Cooks and others, they wouldn't have wanted a WR, so maybe Sitton? They wouldn't have wanted CM3s contract since Jimmy was a contract move. Jimmy isn't known for his blocking and it's a concern I expressed before for Seattle. It remains to be seen if the risk was worth the reward, but they gave up a lot on the line for a guy who isn't a great blocker, on a run-first team.

Again, not disputing Graham's talent, and I'm not saying this couldn't work out great for Seattle...just that I don't think it's as crystal clear a move as it may appear.

Hardy Nickerson? That guy was WAY over the hill. He was freaking THIRTY SEVEN. That wasn't swinging for the fences that was going Geritol. Joe Johnson got injured...that was ugly. I recall being excited for him and he rips up his muscle and done. I appreciate someone who wants to GO FOR IT vs. playing it safe. That is hammered on ALL THE TIME with MM. Playing not to lose. Our GM does the same thing and fans love it. It's interesting.

I'm curious why some of you guys are even in a forum like this? Ted Thompson and MM make no mistakes and we have 100% confidence in their abilities. Seriously, this is how all of you go about your posting. Screw that, I'm an anarchist - I do not just simply accept what is.

In my opinion, Ted Thompson should have walked down on the field after the NFC championship game and fired MM's fat ass! You do not lose a game like that without heads rolling. That game was a statistical blowout and MM made plenty of mistakes keeping that from happening. Good thing Bostick was the fall guy for all the slurper Packers fans that don't demand more accountability. That was the equivalent to the Vikings losing to the Falcons in 98.

Anyway, glad you guys are happy with no improvement on the offense, just status quo gets it done in your minds.

Sadly, it is acceptable. He's still here ready to bring ruin in 2015. Part of me wonders if Ted Thompson didn't say give up your playcalling duties and keep a tighter leash on this or you're gone. I just have a hard time believing MM just gave up his precious play calling cards that easily for the good of the team. Reeks of having to do it and putting on a happy face. I still want the story behind why we lost so many assistants before last year? Guys were abandoning ship. Why?

If memory serves, our then d. coord, Bob Slowik took the fall when 4th and 26 happened. We would've fired the coach but the coach was the GM.
