Kennard Backman, a sixth-round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers, says he can stretch the field as a tight end. But his competitiveness and willingness to block may have attracted him to the Packers.

Glad we grabbed a developmentally guy for TE... I wanted some developmental guys at TE, LT and ILB in this draft (the ILB being a second ILB, assuming they grabbed a higher one). In the draft they only grabbed a TE... though the Packers did pick up UDFA ILB Dantzler which looks like he could develop. Still a bit disappointed they don't really have depth at LT other than maybe Tretter, who I think would be moved inside, but looks like he might need to stay outside for depth reasons.
