RP c'mon man your making it sound like Rodgers has a say so in what happens. If that's the case then why did Favre get so much shit when he lobbied for guys he wanted?

As far as the signing I am ok with it but I was actually hoping we would have improved our offense. The likes of an Andre Johnson and Julius Thomas on this team really made me feel good but now I am back to the idea of ya we will make the playoffs but won't win the big one. We once again will have to go thru Seattle and that is Rodgers kryptonite. Well now that free agency is over time to get hyped up for the draft and then be disappointed lol. I see it already Cooper sitting there by some miracle and Ted Thompson passes on him for some guy that was injured last year lol.

What the he'll is wrong with you.
So you think you finally got one right.

Congratulations.

Quit coming off as this self righteous "I know more than anyone else" clown.

Ever think that The Packers knew exactly what they were doing?

I'm negotiating a contract, I'm not going to put my final number on the board first.

I'm. Gonna come in low to start and wait for a response.

That's exactly what happened.

Happens every year.
Teams leak their starting numbers, agents leak theirs.

In this case they came to a happy agreement.

Of course you being so much more informed then the rest of us, you already knew that.

Now, Ted Thompson is not a good GM based on your already posted thoughts on why he is a good GM. He didn't do as you suggested he would. Like I told you, flexibility was of the essence in Randall's case. Perhaps, he gave an extra mil a year out of his comfort zone. When your cupboard is bare you don't let a 24 year old star walk for one extra million because you set your number beforehand. Your ideology would've cost us Randall for a measly million per. That would've been disastrous to this franchise. I am thankful you don't make the decisions or Randall would be elsewhere...I am also glad that you don't know your GM as well as you think you do.

Just be happy the right thing was done in the end and RC18 is staying.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

This is something that bugs me.
So many here want to be proven "right", instead of being happy that Ted Thompson did the opposite of what so many accuse him of, which is being cheap.
And I still think there will be those that hope Cobb fails now, ️just so They can say "I told you so!!!"
Me, I am happy with the signing.

10 mill may seem like a lot right now, but in a couple years it will either seem below average to average for players with his talent. I believe I read somewhere that the cap has gone up around $20 mill the past two seasons. If that growth rate continues, so will the growth of players' contracts.

Good move for both the Packers and Cobb (who now has the opportunity to receive the rare 3rd large contract).

Exactly, and it's not like his cap number will be $10M this year. Details aren't available yet but I bet it is close to 5, 8, 12, 15 for the 4 years.

You claim to be so smart, why don't. You realize the ONLY number that matters is the Guatsnteed money!

I don't know Ted Thompson at all.
I don't. Pretend to know more than he does, you do, which is why you make yourself look so damn stupid all the time.

You really think Cobb is going to be paid 40 mil the next 4 years?
I'm sure you will say yes.

YOU WILL BE WRONG AGAIN!

Agent window dressing, look it up, you might actually learn something of value.

If WR salaries skyrocket, his deal looks like a bargain and he plays it out.

If WR salaries fall, or his production drops off, or the cap stays flat; the last year or two get renegotiated.

Actually, it's about the cap... yes, guaranteed money factors into that but his overall cap hit is what matters and it's long term effect on it.

You keep saying I think I'm so smart.... I don't recall ever saying anything to that effect on this forum. It must be some insecurity on your part. I can't help if I prove to be right and you wrong all the time.

There is no singular agenda. Although, it is quite clear I'm not drinking the Ted Thompson koolaid like so many here. I think he's got some incredible strengths and some incredible weaknesses leaving him a tad above average. I can tell you he is the wrong GM to be in charge of a franchise with a special QB as we have now. His move with Randall shows me a little something. I'm proud of him for keeping a young star. It would've been devastating on many levels for him not to have done so.
